Do rallies like these ever do any good?

As I see it, a 'moderate' person would probably be turned away from them even more.

But i don't understand what is the outcome of such protests? They are not fruitful at all. Instead conduct workshops, camps, programs in colleges and explain the importance of Islamic principles to all so that people change from within. you stop them in one place, they will go to sin in another place.

we as msulims should be the best example for people. you cannot change a person from stopping them from doing something, change must come from within for it to be genuine. Subhan'allah, i dont know what has gotten into us. people act as if they were always perfect and act so arrogant. we must make people understand why something is wrong, otherwise we will seem like lunatics and no one will pay attention to us. instead of calling people to Islam, we are turning them away. What ever happeend to kind words and no use of force or compulsion? an example form the Quran, Allah first made it illegal to pray drunk, than to drink, then to even sell/buy alcohol...the point is change is gradual, especially from being a non-believer/sinner to a pious person/belierver. people in our ummah no longer use their brains, we have become so arrogant and full of hate and malice, we are suppsoed to be different than kaafir, yet we dotn have respect for anyone. in my opinion, many of us are far worse than a kaafir, sicne we know the truth and how would should lvoe but we do the opposite instead, thne we put down those who are not guided and dont know any better. may allah help us all for we surely need help.

this is very sick, and its worse that people on this forum which i would assume would have some knowledge are praishing this type of barbaric behaviour. dont you people realize what you are making islam seem like? allah help us. ameen.

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

al-amr bi-l ma'rufi wannahee 'anil munkar (Commanding the good and forbidding the evil) is an essential part of Islam and must not be neglected.

Internal reformation is also achieved by external reformation (i.e. leaving of sins).

Subhan'allah, i dont know what has gotten into us. people act as if they were always perfect and act so arrogant. we must make people understand why something is wrong, otherwise we will seem like lunatics and no one will pay attention to us. instead of calling people to Islam, we are turning them away. Enforcing goodness and preventing evil is not an arrogant act in itself, but of course using kind words and hikmah is very useful when advising brothers/sisters in Islam.

an example form the Quran, Allah first made it illegal to pray drunk, than to drink, then to even sell/buy alcohol...the point is change is gradual, especially from being a non-believer/sinner to a pious person/belierver.

The prohibition of alcohol during the time of the revelation of the noble Quran was gradual yes.

But nowadays, with the revelation of the noble Quran being complete, the application of Shari'ah in its entirety is binding on Muslims. We must not choose to apply only a part of Shari'ah, it must be applied completely.

people in our ummah no longer use their brains, we have become so arrogant and full of hate and malice, we are suppsoed to be different than kaafir, yet we dotn have respect for anyone. in my opinion, many of us are far worse than a kaafir, sicne we know the truth and how would should lvoe but we do the opposite instead, thne we put down those who are not guided and dont know any better.

A sinning Muslim will nevertheless be better than a kafir.

I would like to kindly advise you to stop posting your own opinions, instead post fatwas from ulama or similar. Using the Salam greeting would also be nice brother, it can be a source of great reward.

No offence, no hard feelings, just a brother kindly advising you. Please make du'a for me.

Barak Allahu fikum.

And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows best.

hbrother, allah gave us a brain for a reason. do you not have a mind, reason and logic to think? You cannot deal with a person who is a muslim and knows islam the same way you would deal with someone who is ignorant to islam. please open up your mind and see the bigger picture. This is the problem, i hear many people today saying, in Islam, you musnt think, subhanala, that is so wrong. allah gave us opions for a reason, so we may discuss and see whats best. you cannot expect a non muslim to jump ino islam and do absolutly everything one can do without going into the extreme.
We msut command good and forbid evil, but how can we forbid evil if we are doing it in a wrong way? you do not fight fire with fire. Instead of burning things why not prove to people how detrimental gf/bf, fornication is detrimental to soceity and the individual. These people who dont beelvie for the msot part, dont know any better, and never think of what the future holds. that is why it is our DUTY to spread dawah AND NOT TO KILL, MAIM, ABUSE, SLANDER, AND PUSH PEOPLE AWAY FROM ISLAM WITHOUT MAKING THEM UNDERSTAND ANYTHING.

chanigng an action of self or individual can NEVER be done until that person realizes the wrong in it and changes from the inside before the outside. its the change in heart that causes people to stay away or to change themselves. if we never realzie that something is wrong, we will never change.

Not one of us are born perfect, for each of us, we msut undergo a gradual change in one way or another, and gradually work ourselves into jannaeh, insha'allah. Not one of us follow all the commandmants of allah without breaking them, for if you beleive so, you are astray and dont see the weakness of humans and would think one must never repent. imagine if allah punsihed us immediatley after doing wrongs, instead of giving us time to think, see, learn, and correct ourselves. this time allah gave us is alloted to us until allah decides to take our souls. so a kaafir you might slander or be harsh and unjust with could end up in a high rank in jannaeh if he changes while one of us could end up in hell. aoudhubilah.

How can you expect a non muslim to adhere to the laws of Islam? would you adhere to the laws of hinduism? If a person does not beelive in allah, and you tell them dont drink and dont have illegal intercourse, they will laugh, simply becuase they have no faith nor understanding. How would we like it if a non-believer lsandered our holidays, God, or the prophet? WE surely wouldnt like it.

Brother, i sincerely advise you, do not follow sheiks, scholars, there are not God nor are they all-knowing. Yes, learn from them, but only take whats true and waht islam teaches, not what they teach. Allah gave us waht we needed - FOLLOW THE QURAN AND SUNNAH. May allah guide us all, bless and help us to perfect our worship, to have the most perfect form of faith, and to have constant remembrance of Allah. ameen.

NONE of our opionons are worthless, to think otherwise is wrong. we have the right to correct the highest scholar, jsut because one is a scholar it does not make a person perfect. this is a very wrong way to think.

Subahannallah What type of advice are you giving saying we shouldn't follow shekis and scholors! Brother you have to understand that its opinons that distroy facts and lead people astray. The protest was not ment for the world but for the society within pakistan. It was protest against the muslim society within which wanted to adapt to the western holidays. Also nobody said that just because a person is a scholar he is perfect! where did you get that idea from? In Todays society muslims are so caught up in trying to impress the kufur and others by limiting or with holding certain things from the deen. Brother islam is made up of restrictions and limits, you can't say because this person is not muslim I shouldnt protest because he will have a diffrent perspective of islam! NO! Protesting against wats wrong in islam is a mean of showing Dawah!
