a request to moderators:
Many times i've noticed that the reason people keep going round and round in the same circles of confusion is because there are so less contributions from ulamah. I acknowledge they must be very busy with other things but so many questions are left unanswered or leave the poster in even more confusion because so many people who are not qualified give their opinions and wrong interpretations.
There are some very good answerers that may be may not be scholars, like hope1, keepthegazedown, need no name, soupy, verdana? Etc who could give final answers so they are ackonowledged and listened to instaed of some other people putting further doubts into the minds. If not scholar labels then how about a repuation score out of 100 so we all know just how reliable our answers are?

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
Many of not most of the questions already have been answered several times on this forum and on fatwa websites.
Basically, the people just need to use the search function and will then insha Allah find many answers.
Furthermore this forum seems to more and more degenerate into a mere debating platform, because the few times scholars or students of Islam intervene in a thread we often see some jahil people nevertheless not paying attention to it and continuing the debate.
There are many knowledgeable brothers and sisters here who often take the time to reply but people do not pay attention to it and continue debating as has happened in several threads again in the last days.
The knowledge is available, just search for it honestly and sincerely and intelligently and you will find it insha Allah.

I find the search function harder to use now than before. Previously, you could type your thread subject title and it would flag up similar topics from the past but it doesn't do this anymore. The results it does throw up I find are irrelevant to my search.
Or maybe it's just me! :-)

Yes the search is mind boggling! And not every answer is answered there. Brother Al Faruqi I totally agree with what you say about sunniforum turning into a debating platform. This is why we need more ulamah here. As for asking on askimam---its quite hard to get a question in as they are so busy. Not every question here is a fatwa. Some are just queries on tafseer, arabic, social matters etc. Everyone can answer them but if a scholar contributed then you know that his/her answer is the one that is based on experience from quran and sunnah. not just from the back pocket. :-)
By the way, I posted this in the 'Comments and Suggestions' Section but it was moved here. Maybe becasue the moderators want to avoid answering it.....!!! ;)

Salam aleykum, About the search Yes it is flawed so i usually open a new Topic and when I type the name of my topic suddenly several similar topics appear underneath...Basically i've used that instead of search a few times.
Salam.

nah it doesn't work anymore brother. That used to better than the search option which is not very good I'm afraid on SF. Sorry mods! :-)

Well, one thing you can all do to help is invite more Ulama to join SF.
What i wonder, are the moderators on SF ulema? Surely, from their writings it is clear they are very knowledgeable, but are they students or maulana's?

I have only been posting regularly on SF for a few months but I have also realised the problem of so many people debating on matters unnecessarily. But besides the few ulamah who post, there are few members who answer questions very well and accurately. Look out for their answers. A few that come to mind are Brothers: Sa'ad (not sure if he is an aalim), Verdana, Rahmaniyyah, Colonel_Hardstone, and Hope1 (who answers so well he must be an aalim). Generally, these members come on more often so you’d be more likely to get an answer from them.

May Allah bless them!
