As salaamu alaykum.

Who are some of the Shuyukh who are known to have memorized the Sihah it Sittah who are CURRENTLY LIVING?

Are there many who have done this throughout the ages?

If anyone knows the answers to the questions above, please furnish those.

Jazakallahu khair.

Wa'salaam.

Could you please mention exactly where Shaikh Hamza mentions this?
I know for a fact that Shaikh Murabit hasn't memorized them. Maybe Hama said "Studied them"?

Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, in his recent translation of a collection of hadith, mentions that Shaykh Murabit Al-hajj (alive in Mauratania) has memorised "the 9 canonical readings of hadith."

Which collections of hadith was he referring to as the "9 canonical readings of hadith"?

Ok, my mistake- sorry. Shaykh Hamza doesn't explicitly mention Shaykh "murabit al-hajj" but what he said lead me to assume it was him mainly because I've read/heard before that Shaykh Murabit has indeed memorised the sahih sittah.

The sentence(pg.52, second paragraph, from "The content of character" ) reads, "I personally had the benefit of spending time with a scholar from Mauratania who had memorised, with chains of narration, the entire nine canonical hadith collections"

I have the good fortune of being a student of the Shaikh, stayed in his village for months, asked his family members and students all about him and even managed to get copies of most of his - unpublished- works.
Shaikh Murabit has studied many books of Hadith without a doubt, has a good collection of his own, however he isn't known as one who memorized them.
