I've come across a couple of Ahadith in which the Prophet (s) drank from it and made Wudu with it. They can be found [here] (http://www.mathabah.org/General-Counsel/did-the-prophet-muhammads-drink-wine.html). There is also one Hadith where he throws it:

Book 26, Number 3707:
Narrated AbuHurayrah:

I knew that the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) used to keep fast. I waited for the day when he did not fast to present him the drink (nabidh) which I made in a pumpkin. I then brought it to him while it fermented. He said: Throw it to this wall, for this is a drink of the one who does not believe in Allah and the Last Day.

And then there are several which prohibit some types but not others, found [here] (http://www.******************.com/sps/smm/sahihmuslim.cfm?BookID=7&ChapterID=842&scn=dspchaptersfull).

Can anyone help here?

There are different kinds of Nabidh. Some are fermented (alcoholic) and some aren't. Abu Hurayrah let his nabidh ferment therefore Rasulullah refused to drink it. The ones Aishah made were fresh and not fermented, so Rasulullaah drank it and liked it.

Nabidh made by mixing dates with grapes is forbidden... I think it's because that mix ferments more quickly. There's a natural yeast growing on the skin of grapes, maybe mixing with dates (loads of sugar) causes fermentation to proceed at top speed.
