Local Laws and Shari'a

If I am not mistaken, it is not allowed to sell candies in school. In order to raise funds for college, i started selling candies. There is probably nothing wrong with selling halal candies in Shari'a, but is what I'm doing sinful?

If it is, what do I do with the money I have gotten, and what about the initial costs?
