When I signed up for sunniforum, I had to specify a madh-hab... since I don't follow a particular madh-hab, I picked 'none'... and now I don't like my answer, but I really didn't see a choice that matched my position. My madh-hab is the madh-hab of all the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah. Though I don't restrict myself to benefitting from one madh-hab, choosing 'none' doesn't express my position very well. Is there a way to get a different option for me? :)

:salam:

You have another option as follows

Madhab: Don't Know. Appropriate for all those confused about madhabs. For Mujtahids, it's None

Well, I wouldn't say I was confused about madh-habs... and I'm definitely no 'mujtahid'(ah).

Let me think about this some more... maybe I can think of a good term to suggest, and if y'all like it, maybe you could add it?

some people like wahabis and zakir naik say MADHAB is incorrect, why they say that, what is the answer for those people? i think they their selves make another sect to persuade people not follow madhab so thus one should follow them. and i think Abu hanifa never said people should make a madhab by his name. i use his religious explanations that are based on QHURAN and hadith. he is the first correct OLEM and also tabien. the others after him are not so valid.

Salaam to all:

Each of the time periods for the five daily salah has a subdivision called ikhtiyari, mustahabb, and daruri times. I wish to know if the subdivision is shared by all the four madhahib, or if some madhahib do not have it. If all share it, what are the differences in time periods?

There are no differences in time period between four mazhabs.
All are same. Only praying style is difference.

Assalamu Alaikum.
since i was born. my parents told me that we follow hanafi madhab. now a days i too think like you that we should not restrict and divide us into madhabs. we better follow quran and sunnah.this is the reason i also chose "none" to describe my madhab.

Yeah ur right. The 4 Imams does not wanted to make a new sect, they only wanted to pure the teachings of Islam.

NOW TELL ME WHAT U GONNA ANSWER IN GRAVE WHEN ASKED MAA DEENUKA?
surely no one will say hanfi shafi malki or hanbli but natural every body will answer "Islam"!

Imam Abu Hanifa (raa) just passed on a tradition just as did the other three Imams,

according to the view of mainstream Sunni scholars through history all four school are authentic.

mainstream Sunni Muslims follow madhabs

Ibn Taymiyyah (ra) followed a madhab

Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab (ra) followed a madhab

acording to the mainstream view of things the only person who does not need to follow a madhab is an absolute Mujtahid

according to another less common view people may pick and choose what ruling they follow from what scholar, although there are many warnings against turning the religion into a plaything

according to another view people may follow modern Mujtahids who have developed their own madhab - hence the person is following the madhab of their Mujtahid

in all these cases these people are actually following a madhab or picking and choosing between madhabs

no one but an extremist says that laymen may interpret Quran and Sunnah directly

Salaam Brother,

But surely of Ima Bukhari was a Mujtahid then he would have followers(i.e bukhari mazhab)

Not necessarily. Abu Thawr, al-Layth ibn Sa'd, al-Awza'i, at-Tabari, ath-Thawri, Ishaq ibn Rahwaih, et cetera, (may Allah have mercy on them all) were all Mujtahid mutlaq, and their schools of thought either did not survive them, or died out a few centuries later. Ath-Thawri's died in the 8th century.

Asslam-O-Alaikum !

I'm a Sunni Muslim from Pakistan. I Follow Hanafi (Deobandi) School and have no faith in Sufism. I want to ask from a Hanafi that should we recite any supplication while sitting between two prostrations. I noted that most of Hanafis don't recite any supplication while sitting between two prostrations. Is It right to do It ? Or ? Should we recite any supplication ?

Please ! after giving answer of your opinion, also show the evidences from different Hadiths and from Hanafi Scholars.

Was-Salam !

According to Hanafi Fiqh, saying "رب اغفرلي" between two sajdah is mustahab while offering Fardh, sunnah or nafl alone. Also a muqtadi following an imam in fardh salah may read it provided he is following the imam in all arkan (practices) with reading the dua. However, an imam should not develop this habit, because he has been asked in hadith to shorten his salah. However, it is not wajib to say "رب اغفرلي" according to Hanafi Fiqh, neither for individuals nor for imam and muqtadi. (Rad al-Muhtar, Imdadul Fatawa, Vol. 1, p. 200)
