:salam:

true true bro, words can't describe at all the baraka of this event. I cant wait for december when he visits NY again, inshaAllah.

Each speaker and their bayan mentioned something important.

Shaykh Imtiaz ur Rahman Thanvi (db)'s bayan was amazing. I had never heard him speak before. He is the imam at Bellmore masjid, in case you didnt know. The way he talked that muslim 'men' today are unfortunately really not men at all. That the real men were the sahabah who always had deen as their primary concern like leaving behind their businesses once the azan had been called, etc. That particularly hit me up.

The naat by Br. Amjad Qureshi was so emotional and eloquent. Anyone know its lyrics?

All along Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmed's (db) bayan, I kept hoping he continue to talk and talk but it had to end, didnt it. :(

I thought he was speaking just to me :) I was so surprised that he knows so much about the concerns of today's youth.

Asalaamualaikum,

Alhamdulilah Allah swt allowed me to be present at this breath-taking event! I've heard so much about Sheikh Zulfiqar Ahmed and was always fascinated by the things I've heard and It was no surprise that he was mashAllah just as awe-inspiring as I had presumed and All praises are to Allah swt for blessing Sheikh Zulfiqar with the knowledge and speech that he has today. May Allah also bless Sheikh Zulfiqar with a long and healthy life so that he can continue visiting us and literally reminding us to become "closer to Allah" and through the different ways that's possible.

SubhanAllah these pious people are blessed with such barakah in their words that our hearts feel as if they're being healed by just the mere sound of them...The dua that was made--- shook us all subhanAllah and I've really felt as if I became closer to Allah that night... words can't describe how the masjid was and how we all felt during the end... it was as if angels had surrounded us and we could almost feel their presence.

I can't praise Allah swt enough for allowing us all be present at this extraordinary event!! I would also like to use this post to make a dua for all the people who actively took part in this event, and who worked hard to let this event flow smoothly. JazakAllah Kheiron and May Allah reward you incomparably with hasanat and the removal of your sins.. May Allah guide us all to the true and right path and accept our prayers and dua's that we have made..and may we all become of the righteous and be in consistent company of His most beloved slaves. Ameen..!!

ditto.... :) ...ameen

Alhamdulillah...I'm glad you finally got to hear him.

It truly was a blessing. May Allah preserve and reward Shaykh Zulfiqar and his khulafa....ameen

All the lectures were really good masha'Allah. The last one followed by the dua by Shaykh Zulfiqar just topped it off.
I love his analogies--- A mother's love to her child as Allah's love to us (ofcourse 70 times more). Its just amazing how he goes in details...
Oh yeah and how can I forget our favorite when the cell phone becomes the "HELL PHONE" and the internet becomes "enter the net"

My mom was listening in at home via conference call and as soon as I walked in she goes... "why didn't you pick up your hell fone?!" ... LOL

Alhumdulillah, Shaykh Zulfiqar's (db) bayaan was extremely pertinent and inspiring. These NY gatherings masha'Allah seem to get better every time. Last December, he had said it would- and so we believed him then.

It's a real great blessing to get to attend these gatherings. One of the Khulafa said that these ijtemas are allowed to happen because Allah chose to bring some servant of His closer to Him, and that the Masha'ikh are nothing but the mail delivery men who bring Allah's invitation to them. When he said this, I remember the entire Jama'at tearing on reflecting on Allah's love for his servants.

Which brings me to the point of this post, which is that- if any of us have the ability to attend the Chicago Ijtema we should surely make an earnest effort to make it. It is an amazing gathering of 'Ulama and Masha'ikh. For those of you who didn't know, the Saturday event had a number of 'Ulama from all across the north east, and obviously the presence of these righteous people truely attracts the barakah and mercy of Allah (swt).

This entire ambience is only multiplied several times over in the Chicago Ijtema. Add to that the presence of all these seekers of Allah (swt), all those students, all those children. You can think of these ijtemas are nothing but Allah (swt)'s banquets, and each one of us stands the chance to benefit. So please, if you can- attend the Ijtema.

There is another thread on the forum on which the brothers from Chicago have posted all the info you need, so Insha'Allah hope to see many of you there.

it was, alhumdulillah..but now we have to implement the knowledge. often times we feel motivated or inspired yet we do nothign about it, we know our faults, we know what we need to fix so we have to start now, tomaro would be too late.
