:salam:
As the last batch of Hujjaj are beginning to return to duniya (may Allah swt accept their Hajj), the next batch are beginning to prepare (may Allah swt also accept their Hajj).
There seem to be so many agents offering packages for Hajj... can be difficult to choose who to go with. We've been to Umrah twice with "UK Hajj Umrah Services" who are based in East London. They were pretty good... but I was wondering if any people in the UK could recommend any particular agents for Hajj packages? And reasons?
Ideally looking for something cheap... but obviously good service too.
Any recommendations :insh:?

yeah i also know a few brothers who went with 'al-hidayah' from birmingham (i think theyre the 'al-hidayah publications' ppl) and they recommended the service and professionalism. it might be a bit more pricier than the usual cut-price services but u pay for a decent package.
the only thing is, i also know a brother who didnt go with them bcos he didnt want to give money to a ppl who print publications which he doesnt agree with.

I was just about to mention that... I was having a look at their site (which does look very, very impressive :mash: ), and trying to ascertain if the Ustaadhs that go along with you are of any one particular "manhaj". They say they teach based on the Quran and Sunnah, but I noticed this in their merchandise page:
"Hajj, Umrah & Ziiyarat - by Shaykh Abdul-Azeez bin Baz"
Maybe I'm just being pedantic but for a once in a life time opportunity, you wan't everything to be "perfect".
Still, I'm requesting their info. pack :insh:.
Keep the recommendations coming...

well my bro-in-law went with them and alhamdulillah he's balanced and knows the score....he simply went with them....attended their general talks on death etc but when they did the fiqh bits he popped back into the haram-sharif.
id feel uncomfortable to pop in and out tho myself.
its nice to go on hajj with ppl u have no issues with....that way u can genuinely relax when need be....plus u can carry ur tasbih around freely without having it tied round ur neck in ur sleep.

Asalaamu alaikum,
Alhamdulillah I went for Hajj this year and must say that choosing a group to go with was not easy! What I would suggest is that anyone considering going relies on word-of-mouth recommendations from people that are trustworthy, pious & upright. It really upsets me to say so but I most certainly would not recommend the group I went with. I won't post their name here but if anyone is seriously (and I mean seriously!) considering going then I may let you know in private. I certainly don't want to be accused of spreading discord but any group that is so disorganised that it provides no alim, overbooks, provides substandard and non-advertised rooms really is not going to be conducive to the most successful of pilgrimmages.
Groups I was personally recommended were al-Hidayah (despite the salafi influences) and Dome tours. I spoke to a brother from Dome tours and they sounded very well organised and made sure the group was small and therefore manageable.
Might I also suggest that before booking consider what controllable aspects of the trip are of most importance (ie, being near the masjids, having food provided everywhere) and see which groups provide which things. Be aware that a 5-star hotel is going to cost a small fortune, but how much time will you be spending there, and will it prevent you from the crushes outside? A lot of money for very little difference!
I've been considering posting up the sketchy diary I kept of my Hajj, and may still do so if I can get around to finishing it!

Bro, did you go with the "Hajj and Umrah Travel ltd." Shi'a run organisation?
I've heard some good things about al-Hidaayah as well but as you mention it is run by the Salafis.... anyone know any other non-Salafi orgs that have a good service like theirs?

No, I didn't - I heard mixed reports about them. A good friend of mine went with them about 3 years ago and said they were very good, well disciplined and organised. However, people from the same group at the same time said they didn't enjoy it!

we are looking for a 2-week package. and at the moment we have received quotes from various operators (some mentioned in this thread) ranging from between £2,500 to £4,000 per person!!!!
... bro salahuddin, could you message me privately the name of the operator you would not recommend. i tried to message you privately, but it says you cannot receive private messages.
any updates from anyone else? specifically 2-week packages from well-organised operators, preferably not la-maddhabi - but not necessary.

Asalaamu alaikum,
How do I turn on private messaging? It says I can't send any PMs!
Forget paying £4,000, or even £3,000. These are luxury packages, and the amount of luxury you recieve whilst in Saudi is negligible; when paying this much for a package you're essentially paying for a luxury hotel, but think about it, is your luxury hotel going to be able to prevent you from having to deal with the crowds or improve your Hajj?
Inshallah I'll look at some of the brochures I kept and write recommendations of the groups I heard good things of.

I guess 'we need' hajj packages nowadays, but its kinda depressing knowing how much more effort the rest of the developing world have to kinda go throught to get there....just out of interest, do ppl from other countries go on 'hajj packages' from their countries?
(In my mind, keep remembering that hajj documentary in the UK, and they were filming a very old, very poor looking brother, who had apparently been wheeling his stuff on pilgrimage to Makkah for pilgrimage for the last 1-2 years, in preparation for his hajj - always think about him, and how crowded it must get, and whether he ever found his accomodation inthe end, whether he made his hajj, and whether he returned home or not. was quite sad to watch. thats how hard hajj used to be inthe past. Now its all jet set go. There are others who have 'substandard rooms'....unfortunately it would be nice to have a great room, but I remember once when we went to do umra, and we nearly didnt have somewhere to sleep cos every room was booked....these were the days before the 'packages'....anyway, its important to remain organised)

As salaamu alaikum
Does anyone in the states know of a good agency to go with?
For those who made Hajj was it difficult to keep up with the correct days? I heard that sometimes the Suad's order the people to go on arafat on a day other then the 9th. Also how do you know when your animal has been slaughtered if you don't have a cell phone?

Mostly seen the situations, when Muslim Brothers and Sisters are travelling for Umrah and find the cheap flight to perform Umrah from their detinations. They book different Umrah Packages but sometimes the customization is not enough for them.
