^halal Beauty products^

what are the facts that make a beauty product halal?..i mean what conditions a beauty product has to fulfill in order to be called halal? and my other question is...is it forbidden to use cosmetics which have been tested on animals..animal tests in which animals are tortured alive..i'm against animal testing but wanted to know what islam says about it:)

The Halal requirements for beauty products are Halal protein, Halal fat and no alcohol as a carrier in fragrance or they should not be made from animal derived ingredients and no alcohol is used as a solvent in fragrance. I looked through all ten pages in the personal care section on the site but i didn't find anything on cosmetics. Like mascara, lipgloss, foundation etc. Do you have any information on which companies offer halal cosmetics?

I am sorry for not providing the link to cosmetic. If you go to our search engine then to Search News, write cosmetic then you will see couple companies making cosmetic without animal derived ingredients.

BEWARE OF USE OF ALCOHOL FROM GRAPE IN PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS

Assalam O Alaikum

For your information the alcohol for industrial use and personal care products comes mostly from grape. The unfit grape for table use, wine is used to make alcohol and also used as a raw material for CREAM of TATAR in USA/Canada. The reason is that you do not see any kosher symbol on personal care products in USA/Canada/Europe except from Israel, available only at kosher stores. Jews do not consider alcohol from grape as kosher unless the growing, harvesting of grape and manufacturing to alcohol is under a Rabbi supervision.
