I wanted to know what the hanafi ruling was on using enemas whilst fasting, especially when one is suffering from constipation and haemorrhoids and cannot pass naturally without much pain and bleeding.

jazakallah

aproudmuslim what you say there is totally wrong. some sahabas fasted for 70 days witrh any food intake whatsoever. (this is true). if you have great difficulties whilst fasting such as bleeding and others then it is not compulsory on you. but if it isnt that painful then if you do it Allahj grants you a lot more thawaab

the sahaba couldnt have fasted like that its haraam friend. & I think you would die. as soon as your fasting harms you & is bad for your health you shouldnt fast because it is a greater sin to harm ones self as aposed to not fasting

an enema would invalidate the fast as it is entry via one of the open passages of the body. however if the haemorrhoids were put inside it wouldnt.

I think this person could still fast & just take the enema at night. but if he cant work around it shouldnt fast.

consult a muslim doctor for other options. only a muslim could give you the best option. then use the doctor & consult a scholar together.

how would you know have you suffered like that. the person cant go to toilt unless he breaks his fast-that is what the question is about.

the answer is that it breaks ones fast, and that no compensation is necessary, one fast will need to be made up.
