Asalaam Walikum brothers.

I have a small issue regarding physical work out routine. Back since in high school, i used to work out on daily bases, going to public gym near my house and everything. Then when college started, i stopped going to gym because i realized it was too much fitnah there (ie. loud music and women working out there as well). SO i stopped for more then 3 years. Now for past few months, i felt like getting my physical shape back and in march i went and subscribed to gym membership. I thought id deal with fitnah with help of Allah SWT. As for loud music was concerned, i took my ipod and listened to the Quran my entire time, it was not a big deal. but women working out in very inappropriate articles of clothing (as many of you guys will know) was still a big fitnah for me. i kept my gaze down but its not 100% that your gaze will be protected by haram. So after two months of working out, i told myself i can not risk seeing haram on daily bases when i can avoid it by not going to gym and also keep my Iman protected by help of Allah SWT.

My main question for this thread is what work out can i do on daily bases at HOME, in which i can gain physical shape. I do push ups on daily bases but I know i can add many things more to my routine.
Also, I have heard muscle milk, or some products like Whey protein has haram ingredients. So what supplemental can i take for muscle milks?

ps. Some may say running is the best exercise but when its 30 deg F outside, its not possible :x.

Jazakallah Khair for all the responses.

There's a Combat Fitness routine DVD by Gabriel Suarez , head of "Infidel Media Group" , you can try that out. Plus. If you can get a manual instruction, you can try that p90x thing. I believe it all requires some tension bands and a floor mat.

I personally am thinking of buying a treadmill for running/jogging in the winter. So give them a try too.

Do you have any space in your home to set up a gym? You only need a few items to stay in shape.

Yeah, i got basement to set something up. i was thinking to buy bowflex or one of those all in one machines for work out, but they cost too much.

skip the bowflex. you can get a power rack for about $500 here (http://www.powertecfitness.com/product.php?id=workbench-power-rack) and some free weights, easy to find at garage sales or craigslist. Or, even though some people are against any kind of machine I had this (http://www.powertecfitness.com/product.php?id=workbench-multi-system) and liked it alot. It's a bit pricey but you can probably find it used on craigslist, that's how I initially got and sold mine. Look into http://stronglifts.com/ and http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/Starting_Strength_Wiki for a good free weight workout routine.

:salam: ^ ^

I'll second part of what muhammadnur posted.

You can do an intense workout by using minimal equipment or buying used things off criagslist.

I agree with muhammadnur, too. You can find used weights, bench and power rack online for relatively cheap. Also, depending on what your goals are, you can try bodyweight exercises (using only your own body). The more common ones are pushups, squats, etc., but you can work up to much harder exercises by decreasing your leverage, e.g., handstand presses, planche pushups, etc. This website has some good information: www.bodyweightculture.com. You probably won't gain a lot of muscle mass with bodyweight workouts, but you can become really strong. You might also want to think about getting a chin/pullup bar that fits in a doorway. The Irongym one is popular and you can find it for under $25 if you look online.

When you are having a bad day and a brother like muhammednur comes along and happily posts stuff like this, IT MAKES YOUR DAY ! :D

It's for purchase, but I won't recommend it on second thought, because he's anti-muslim ( hence the name "Infidel" ). Try searching torrents for "Fitness" in video sections and insha'Allah you'll find something useful.
