Ubaidu'llah bin al abbas ibn abdul Mutallib al Hashimi the cousin of the Prophet PBUH and the brother of Abdullah and Katheer and al Fadl and Kuthm and Ma'abad and Tamam.

was born in the life of the Prophet PBUH... He narrated a Hadith from the Prophet PBUH in Sunan al Nasa'e which is Mursal. those who narrated from him are his son abdullah, and Ata'a and ibn Sireen and Suleiman bin Yasar and others..

He was an honourable and generous Ameer.

Muhammad bin Sa'ad mentioned him in the fifth level of companions, he said: He was one year younger than Abdullah, he heard from the Prophet PBUH and he was a merchant who died in Madinah.

al Waqidi mentioned: he remained until the government of Yazid bin muawiyah.

I say: he is the brother of abdullah, he was the Ameer of yemen during the reign of his cousin Ali RA, he led the people in Hajj...

Al faswi said: Died during the reign of Muawiyah, Khalifah and others said: died on 58 AH.


Abu Ubaydah and Abu Hassan al Ziyadi both said: he died on 87 AH.

ibn Sa'ad said: Ubaidullah was one year younger than Abdullah, he heard from the Prophet PBUH.

I don't think so because his father is Al Abbas bin Ali bin Abi Talib famous as "Abu al fadl" and he did have children, we read in tareekh Dimashq for example:

3102 العباس بن عبد الله بن خالد بن يزيد ابن معاوية بن أبي سفيان الأموي أخو أبي العميطر علي بن عبد الله بن خالد وأمهما نفيسة بنت عبيد الله بن العباس بن علي بن أبي طالب وأمها أم أبيها بنت عبد الله بن عباس وأمها أم محمد بنت عبيد الله بن العباس له ذكر ذكره أبو المظفر الأبيوردي وغيره

Al Abbas bin Abdullah bin Khaled bin Yazid bi Muawiyah Bin Abu Suffiyan al Umawi the brother of Abu al 'Umaytr Ali bin Abdullah bin Khaled and their mother is Nafeesah the daughter of Ubaidullah bin al Abbas bin Ali bin Abi Talib and her mother is Umm Abiha bint Abdullah bin Abbas and her mother is Umm Muhammad bint Ubaidullah bin al Abbas who was mentioned by al Muthaffar Al Abiwardi and others...

4 (أبو العميطر) هو الأمير علي بن خالد بن الخليفة يزيد بن معاوية بن أبي سفيان الأموي السفياني وأمه هي نفيسة بنت عبيد الله بن عباس ابن أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب ولذلك كان يفتخر ويقول: أنا ابن شيخي صفين أنا ابن العير والنفير وكان يسكن قرية المزة وداره بدمشق غربي الرحبة

Abu al 'Umaytr: He is Ameer Ali bin Khaled the son of caliph Yazid bin Muawiyah bin Abu Suffiyan al Umawi al Suffiyani and his mother is Nafeesah bint Ubaidullah bin Abbas bin Caliph Ali bin Abi Talib and for that he was proud and he used to say: I am the son of the two Sheikhs of Siffin...

So this guy is the grandson of Ali RA whereas the first guy is Ubaidu'llah bin al abbas ibn abdul Mutallib al Hashimi the cousin of the Prophet PBUH.

We can't call ourselves Syed/Shah. They are only the descendants of Bibi Fatima (RA).

In my family tree from the grand son of Hazrat Aon Qutb Shah (RA) to my Grand father had KHAN as a family name. But we call oursleves Rajput-Chauhan as Hazrat Aon Qutb Shah (RA) had converted the daughter of Hindu Raja Chouhan Rajput Kuldan and from there had 4 children.

Thanx but this won't help me :(

Qutb Shah (RA) had 4 wives.

Muzammal Ali is from Zeenab and Muhammad Ali is from Khadija.
My cousin got a new one from Shajra office in Lahore. I will ask him, InshAllah! :)
