Salamualykum,
As a sister who is always having affected by the negative emotions of others, what should I do. It's even at my expense, their negativity dominates so that I will chose to give up or compromise so that I do not "feel" such anger, hate etc. I usually tend to sense and pick up on the the emotions of others quite easily. If I deny their demands or desires the anger then tends to be inflicted upon me :o
I want to live a normal life, I don't want to care how others feel if their wishes are not met. But, I can't even move forward because I feel like their negativity is draining me.
Is this normal? Is there a dua to say?

I apologise sister. Please, explain why you can't just ignore their negativity or stop hanging out with them so that we can get to the bottom of this, :insh:

I changed my post above. The reason is because I care too much about their feelings and I don't know how to switch that off. Even I am compromising but maybe this is how a Muslim is supposed to be? To avoid quarrels and argumentation.

I don't really know what to advise you... just don't hang out with these people if they are negative, selfish, uncompromising.
To keep you sane, please remember to read a set number of Durood every day. I suggest around 300 over the course of the day, in small 'chunks' if you would prefer. If 300 seems a lot initially, then do as much as you can but do it consistently (meaning every day). When you are conmfortable with such an amount and wish to increase it, do it according to your ability and so on.
Also, read at least ten minutes of Al Quran after Fajr every day. I think that this will have a positive effect on the heart, and hopefully any negativity rubbing off on you can be eliminated through this routine, :insh:

:jazak: The above was very helpful. Stick to my decisions and choices if they are right Vrs what's not or less pure and increase Quran recitation, daroods, duas and salaah to help with the negativity from others.
