No such thing as shame to Islam, only an ego big enough to think you represent Islam and hence have a capacity to shame Islam. The prophet Yunus did not fulfill his obligations to Allah and he was under greater scrutiny than any individual and Allah forgave him. Shame is self inflicted and it self is due to a sickness in the heart. Shame and Hayah are two different things, one is shyness in front of Allah while the other is towards people so essentially you would want to commit suicide becouse of people and not for the sake Allah or the religion.
