Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “The Nikah with the most amount of barakah is the one with the least expenses”.

And do not incline towards the wrongdoers, lest the Fire should catch you, and you have no supporters other than Allah, then you should not be helped.
(Verse: 11:13)

عن ابن عمر قال قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم)، "من تشبه بقوم فهو منهم". (رواه أبو داؤد)

It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn ‘Umar (Radhiyallahu Anhu) that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “Whosoever imitates or follows a nation, will be regarded from amongst them”.

وعن عبد الله بن عمرو أنه سمع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " من سمع الناس بعمله سمع الله به أسامع خلقه وحقره وصغره ". (رواه البيهقي في " شعب الإيمان ")

Mulla ‘Ali Qari (Rahimahullah) explains the meaning of the abovementioned Hadith that if a person does actions to show and please other people, Allah Ta’ala will make his bad habits known to everyone, and will ridicule him in this world.

:salam:

:jazak: for the article.

I was wondering if the prohibitions apply to all customs, including ones which are not tied to kuffar or transgressors.

Should we not allow the practice of all non-Sunnah customs, or just those specifically mentioned, and/or which directly relate to other haram actions (mixing, imitating the kuffar, etc.)?

nowadays we tend to follow traditions wherein new customs and ways are brought to make it pleasurable for ourselves where we dont realise the real sunnat method. in them days they didnt have these kind of things taking place but due to the lack of knowledge we have we tend to follow what others do and go and compete with them to make it better than theirs. we are to make sure we follow the sunnat method and make others aware of the right way and stop them if possible in addition to trying our best to prevent this in happening and most important of all making dua for Hidayah on those who dont follow the correct way.

What about customs that don't necessarily contradict the Sunnah way?
