Salaams just thought this would help us all inshallah...
Its regarding the books we read and the articles we read on the net or else where....A story to start with...
There is a person who lives say about 20 miles away from us and his dad is an Alim and he too graduated at darul uloom deoband and is a hafiz I think...Well he returned to england after finishing his course and then he bought the net....He started going on any site and every site...first debating with the sunnis shiahs bidatis baha'is and then you wont believe this but he has become a baha'i (they dont follow any religion)..may Allah save us all...Am not talking about an incident which happened ages ago..no1 it happened just recently...And then one day(you know how those JB's (jamati bros) go door to door)went to his house, hes dad went tooo.and they started to explain to him and this is what he said ''i know what I ma doing,i am on hidayah''. now the father who is an alim too started to cry and left him saying ''may allah give you hidayah''...so the sons reply was..''I am already on hidayah may allah give all of you hidaya''
Now think about it..He was a so called alim...and look at us....We think we are Mr or MRS lnow it alls but we are not...even the alims of today think they are Mr or MRS know it alls..We think our imans r so strong that reading anything and everything wont have a bad effect on us...At the end of the day does this all mean that all the ulamas be4 us just banged about nonsense when they said sohabat(company) has asar(efects)..sit with pious u become like them..sit with the evil u become like them...Go to a perfume shop...even though you wont use the perfume you'll start smelling like that...Know we shouldnt even read the bible or anybooks written by the kuffar like that...or anyother book who is not qritten by a true alim..or strong muslim...I know it says ''look at the thing bing said not the sayer(the one who says it)...but this is not a qa'ida-e-kulliyya(a rule to go by always)...Its a fact that sohbat has asar..even the internet is a sohbat...therfore we should mind what we read...and its our duty to warn other fellas about soemthing which canlead one astray....Am not hinting at anyone just saying...

:salam:

:jazak: for the reminder. I think it's a clear example of how ilm does not equal Imaan. Allah swt grants hidiyah to who He wishes, and takes it away from who He wishes.

I think one of the biggest factor is that of making shukur. The blessings of Allah swt upon us are countless, but we very rarely offer our thanks to Allah swt. Usually when we're in a state of good health, we forget to give thanks for that good health. But the moment affliction hits us, we hit the musallah and start making dua. Of course our duas are :insh: accepted, but we need to be making this same effort all the time. Make shukur and our rizq is increased.

Stories like that are unfortuantely common, sis. I know of someone who went from the highest ranks of Imaan to close to being a kaafir.

May Allah swt keep us safe from such circumstances.

True...Like the quran says..something like those ppl who are in the middle of the sea and they are hit by a wave they start calling on allah but whne hey are on land again and safe they satrt calling on other gods..its true bout makin shukr its like say if soemone gives us money we thank them(r meanta be thankin em) and ofcourse we dont thank our selves when we work and earn money..same is the case with allah and a servant...many of us may allah save us think that the knwledge we have is from our selves...and thats why we dont thank allah..zaalika min fadhlillah....we should thank allah for it coz at the end of the day its through the help of allah that we have the knowledge and all..
Yep stories like that are common these days...like my dad bangs at me if i go on this certain forum...
aamen to yer dua

the thing about darul ulooms these days is that they dont teach the students what is like out there... with all the different groups and stuff. most the students think that once they graduate, they will just teach at maktab or something. which is good, but not using their potential.

the sudents need know the fitnah out there and be given ammunition to defend themselves AND correct others.

Yep seven thats right but the way we get taught and our teachers r totally different then others...like say one o the muftis who teaches us bukhari..he does teach but at the same time he tells us whats going on in the world..all the fitnah...and stuff...while the other teacher tells us about salafism and bidah as well as teaching tirmidhi...he also xplains how never to put up an argument when you dont have strong proofs e.t.c...but thats with my datul-uloom dont know about other darululooms wallahu aalaam

I think a major thing to do if you wanna start giving dawah to other more misguded groups is to each time u have a "session" with them, you should build up yr imaan straight after....
sometimes we dont even realise how quickly we're being influenced by other groups until we're soooo far off its really weaken your imaan and everything.
Imaan never stays the same it'll go up and down, so u have to keep refreshing it... i guess thats summin i've learnt...

I think someone mentioned how ilm is not imaan... just a really good point there...
u can b the most knowledable but still be influenced by other things and so theres nothing wrong with trying to help others, but you have to be careful about your own as well...

like trying to help a drowning person, you can reach over and help someone and pull em towards the safe shore, but if they keep pulling you into the sea... u have to step back no matter how hard it is....

yep raeesa ben soo true...jamhoor ulama say that iman has stages...as well as taqwa..reading your namaz is a taqwa too...but true u gotta keep refreshin it coz its sohard to make ur self a strong mumin but its so easy for your iman to go low again like within minutes or seconds it can go low...wallahu aalam
