View Full Version : The Lineage of Shaykh Mohamed Al-Yaquobi
As salaamu alaikum. In my previous thread, after posting what Shaykh Mohamed Al-Yaquobi said here (from 2:33 to 4:38):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyjtCwAXpEc&NR=1
...it was mentioned that the Shaykh is supposedly a descendant of the Prophet (SAWS). I've found what is said to be information about his lineage. It is said that he is a descendant of Idris the Second the son of Idris the First the son of Abdella the son of Al-Hasan the son of Al-Hasan the son of Ali the son of Abu Talib. I find this interesting because if this lineage is true, he is descended from black-skinned people. It's a known fact that Idris the First is the brother of Mohamed Al-Nafs Al-Zakia the son of Abdella the son of Al-Hasan the son of Al-Hasan the son of Ali the son of Abu Talib. Read here what is said about Mohamed Al-Nafs Al-Zakia's description:
Al-Hafidh Al-Dhahabi says:
Mohamed Al-Nafs Al-Zakia was "black-skinned and huge".
Al-Tabari says:
"Mohamed Al-Nafs Al-Zakia was tall, jet-black-skinned and huge. He was nick-named The Bituminous because of his blackness and Abu Ja'afar Al-Mansour used to call him Charcoal".
Bituminous means like bitumen. Take a look at the color of bitumen:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_vMDpm0hAzes/S9wtB6UbmfI/AAAAAAAAAD4/33VIVnYwRvk/s1600/bitumen.jpg
Mohamed Al-Nafs Al-Zakia was also called Charcoal. Here is the color of charcoal:
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_vMDpm0hAzes/S9wtzPZX1qI/AAAAAAAAAEA/peNVE-YpMxI/s1600/Charcoal.jpg
It is a known fact that Mohamed Al-Nafs Al-Zakia was a pure-blooded Arab from his father's side and his mother's side. This is why he was nick-named The Pure-Blooded Quraishi. This is why he said the following about himself:
"You know that no one has as close relations to or relations to anyone better than he whom I am very closely related to (meaning the Prophet Mohamed (SAWS))".
Mohamed Al-Nafs Al-Zakia, also said the following about himself:
"I am descended from the Prophet (SAWS) from my mother's side AND my father's side. I am the purest of Bani Hashim (the branch of Quraish that the Prophet Mohamed (SAWS) is from) in genealogy and the noblest of them both paternally AND maternally. NO NON-ARAB BLOOD RUNS THROUGH MY VEINS!
Idris the First had another brother named Musa Al-Jawn (the Black). Musa Al-Jawn was also very black-skinned. He was nicknamed Al-Jawn (the Black) because of his blackness. The Sharifs called Banu Al-Akhaidar, who are found in Oman, Saudi Arabia, and other places, are descended from Musa Al-Jawn.
Idris the First had another brother named Yahya the Possessor of Daylum the son of Abdella the son of Al-Hasan the son of Al-Hasan the son of Ali the son of Abu Talib . Yahya, too, was described as very dark-skinned (adam complexioned).
Even the grandson of Idris the First - Mohamed the son of Idris the Second the son of Idris the First - is described as asmar in complexion with kinky hair.
It would be interesting to know when the complexion of the children of Abdella the son of Al-Hasan the son of Al-Hasan the son of Ali the son of Abu Talib began to lighten up.

Well even if the Sheikhs forefathers 1400 years ago were very dark, this doesnt negate his lineage - since you are very interested in race and lineages - you may have doen your owbn research into African Americans nad the suprising things that they find when they do DNA tests on them - they expect to trace their DNA markers to Africa, but in many cases the person who considers himself African American, geneticly is in fact more Caucasian then African - this is due to the mixing of the races ocer just the past 500 years of African presense in America. Its very easy for a person with dark skin to have great grand children with blonde hair and blue eyes, and thenthose children can easily have great grand children with charcoal black skin. My wife is half Japanese, our son has blonde hair green eyes and shows no sign of being 1/8 Asian - so We can easily see how even if hz. Nafs Al Zakia was dark skinned, over the course of 1300 years his grandchildren are of all shapes and colors.

brother carry on studying lineage, colour, race etc if that interests you but please do not hold the opinion that one colour or race is better than the other in the eyes of Allah. the only person that excels above the other is the one who is greater in piety.
also do not let this get in the way of your spiritual progression and study of the deen itself. look into the beliefs of NOI and farrakhan and recognise them for what they are. there are many deviants who wish to take the muslims away from true islam. hold fast onto the true islam as taught by the Prophet :saw: and transmitted to us through the generations of true muslims to this day. this is what will help you in the hereafter and save you from the torment of the fire. this world is just a fleeting illusion. prepare for the next world before time runs out.

My father has black skin, and my mother has white skin. And I came out light brown. I have a wife with white skin, more than likely my child will have white skin. My child is still a descendant of my father even though he is very very dark.
Descendancy cannot be proven or disproven by skin color.
It can be proven by DNA though. So why don't you do a DNA study, gather the DNA of all those who say they are descendant of the Prophet (sallahu alayhi wa salam), and then find out if Shaykh Muhammad Al Yaqoubi is his descendant.
Hey if you get a white girl pregnant and she has the baby, and you can't tell the judge, "well my skin is black and that baby skin is light brown, there is no way he or she can be my baby." The judge will laugh at you. and tell you to get a DNA test.
Your whole argument has no basis. It rubbish. And the only foolish will buy into your accusation.
And Allah knows best.

We used to encounter them in the 90's - and we didnt laugh - they called themseves Allah (naoodhubillah) - so we usually fought them. For many years, when the Muslims saw 5ers, there was going to be some fisticuffs. But I havent seen a 5er in years.
What you all are doing here now is showing that you are, in fact, truly racists. When a person, with each and every mere mention of color, shouts out, "I'm not a racist! I believe that all people are the same! I am color bind!", this sends me STRONG WARNING SIGNALS that the person speaking is in fact a RACIST IN DENIAL. When a person keeps saying to me, and completely out of context, "I think you are equal to me! We are all the same! I believe our colors don't matter, I believe our colors don't matter!", it shows me that that person in fact doesn't think I'm equal to him, doesn't think we are all the same, and thinks our colors DO matter. When a person keeps telling me, "I'm a good person, I'm a good person, I'm a good person!", he/she makes me cautious of him/her.

Lol, you just keep telling yourself that.
you really should become spokesperson for the NOI, you're pseudo-sociological BS might attract some brain dead followers to the cult. here on this forum, tho, no one is brain dead so you're not gonna win over any converts.
And notice that this response only comes as a result of someone great being described as dark. When Shaykh Mohamed Al-Yaquobi sat there and described the Prophet (SAWS) as pinkish white, it wasn't a problem. In fact it was great. Everyone loved it. But as soon as I said that he was wrong in his description and that the words meant something darker, SUDDENLY mentioning colors became an offense! Because I mentioned the description of the immediate descendants of the Prophet (SAWS), you consider me a racist. Do you consider the Shaykh a racist because he described the Prophet(SAWS) as pinkish white? Why is his speech about color beautiful and my speech about color racist? It's because you are making it appear that deep down in your hearts, you have racist tendencies - RACISTS IN DENIAL. And those of you who are of color and do not like to hear about the dark complexion of great people, I understand your problem.

Your tasteless joke about Allah and His creation and His Signs is an example of your racist tendency revealing itself. Allah says:
And if you ask them, they will surely say, "We were only conversing and joking." Say, "Is it Allah and His Signs and His Messenger that you were mocking?"
Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief. If We pardon one faction of you - We will punish another faction because they were criminals.
So you're saying the brother is a kaffir?

Sister Sudoku,
I too care about the attribution of the wrong color to the Prophet (SAWS) and that's the whole purpose of my mission - to correct this misconception that people have about the color of the Prophet (SAWS). This is the purpose behind my mentioning Shaykh Mohamed Al-Yaqoubi's incorrect definition of asmar and adam. This is the purpose behind my announcing that Mohamed Al-Yaquobi's description of the Prophet (SAWS) as "pinkish white" is INCORRECT. This is the purpose behind my explaining what the Arabs of the past meant by the complexion "abyad (white)"
Sister Sudoku, I ask you to investigate for yourself and ask anyone knowledgeable of the Arabic language if the complexion adam means hinti. This is what brother Mohamed Al-Yaquobi said in the clip and he is WRONG and I will tell him to his face that he is wrong if I ever have the opportunity to discuss this with him. Hinti is a complexion lighter than asmar and asmar is a complexion lighter than adam, so how did adam become hinti? Anyone who says that it's not important to know this truth and to correct this false information, without a doubt such a person does not know what Islam is all about. The book that Mohamed Al-Yaquobi is reading from in the clip (As-Shamaa-il Al-Mohamedia) describes the Prophet (SAWS) in the first hadith as not an unattractive whiteness (not amhaq) and not very asmar (not adam). And the next hadith describes him (SAWS) as asmar. So where does this description as "pinkish white" come from??? Do you understand my concerns sister Sudoku?

It would be interesting to know when the complexion of the children of Abdella the son of Al-Hasan the son of Al-Hasan the son of Ali the son of Abu Talib began to lighten up.
now you have started beating that old, torn, drum in this thread also.

Mohamed Al-Yaquobi sat there and gave a speech from a book that talks about the description of the Prophet (SAWS) AND he not only gave what he considered a description of the Prophet (SAWS), but he wrongly described him as pinkish white AND he sat there and said that pinkish white is the most beautiful color. You have no problem with his talk about color, but when I come with what the hadiths really say, then you have a problem with the Prophet (SAWS) being described. What do you call that???

heres the thing tee - Shaykh Muhamed Al yaquobi is an actual scholar, trained in the sciences of hadeeth, knows way more than you or i or anyone on this forum about islam - so, when he related something and gives us information, we trust his oppinion over yours - Tell you what, why dont you give Shaykh Al Yaqoubi a buzz, and ask him why he chose the pinkish description against your scholarly advice.

If you choose false information over the truth, that's your problem. It's not Islamic behavior to do so, but that's between you and Allah. All that you said doesn't change THE FACT that what Mohamed Al-Yaqoubi said in that clip IS WRONG. You say that you won't listen to what I'm saying because Mohamed Al-Yaqoubi is a scholar and knows way more than me. Do you know that Allah says:
فبدأ بأوعيتهم قبل وعاء أخيه ثم استخرجها من وعاء أخيه كذلك كدنا ليوسف ما كان ليأخذ أخاه في دين الملك إلا أن يشاء الله نرفع درجات من نشاء وفوق كل ذي علم عليم
So he first searched their bags before his brother’s bag, then removed it from his brother’s bag; this was the plan We had taught Yusuf; he had no right to take his brother by the king’s law, except if Allah wills; We may raise in ranks whomever We will; and above every possessor of knowledge is another scholar.
Can you give me Mohamed Al-Yaqoubi's phone number and email address?

Today, it's about the color of the Rasool's (saws) skin tomorrow we'll be told that "god" is black as well
WHAT? yeah apparently the NOI worships a black dude.
Actually the NOI worships a white man. Ever seen a picture of W.F. Muhammad, their god. He is a white guy. Well their position is that he is half black half white, but looks 100% white. They say, their god, was made to look white so he could sneak into the USA without being detected.
The God of the NOI.

قال الله تعالى:
وما نرسل المرسلين إلا مبشرين ومنذرين ويجادل الذين كفروا بالباطل ليدحضوا به الحق واتخذوا آياتي وما أنذروا هزوا
Allah says:
We only send the apostles to give Glad Tidings and to give warnings: But the unbelievers dispute with vain argument, in order therewith to weaken the truth, and they treat My Signs as a jest, as also the fact that they are warned!
