what does the prophet(s.a.w) mean in the hadith about the blackbanners from the east, when he says"they will slaughter you in a way that you never seen before"? does that mean they will kill muslims or fight against other muslims?

I would like to know the same thing please. Also:
1) what is Khurasan and what role does it play in the scheme of things?
2) what role does Isfahan and the Jews and Dajjal play?

This is a very complex subject, but it is generally accepted that many Arabs of Bilād ash-Shām will follow a nationalist ruler called "as-Sufyānī" who will wage war against al-Mahdi when bay`ah is given to him in Makkah al-Mukarramah. Shaykh Syed Badī`uz-Zaman an-Nursi (rahimahullāh) called him the "Arab Dajjāl". His followers are the ones that the army from Khorasan will fight, w-Allāhū a`lam.
These narrations of the black flags vary from severely weak, to slightly weak, to one report in Ibn Mājah which appears to be authentic though al-Albānī (rahimahullāh) rejected it because of the term "khalīfatullāh" which he said is un-Islamic since Allah can not die and therefore needs no khalīfah. Apparently, he forgot to take into account when Allāh says in Sūrat al-Baqarah: "innī jā`ilun fi-l arDī khalīfah".

As for the 'Sufyani' I do not think any sunni scholar accepts this. It seems to be a clear anti-Umayyad fabrication by the people they oppressed. However, it is quite silly in the first place to imagine a descendant of Abu Sufyan who will emerge again to rebuild the Umayyad empire. My guess is, this story was fabricated in the Abassid Era, in anticipation of a near revolt by the pro-Umayyads. My guess is the anti-Umayyad element was invented by the shias who were violently against them and decided to show them as the opposite pole of the Mahdi (as).
As for the hadith at hand, it does not mention any Sufyani. All it states is that black banners will raise in the east and that we should support this - for it is the cause of the Mahdi (as), the khalifah of Allah on earth.
Imam Suyuti and Ibn Majah have mentioned this hadith, and Al-Haytami has graded it sahih in Majma' al-Zawa'id, as well as Al-Hakim who graded it sahih in his Mustadrak.

Tilmeedh you are incorrect Habibi.
As-Sufyani is accepted by the Sunni scholars. The own Ahlul Bayt Sunni scholar Shaykh Abu Qanit al-Sharif al-Hassani even said there is al-Sufyani.
