REMEMBER....

When becoming humiliated, remember the Prophet (Peace be upon him) in Ta'if.

When being starved, remember the Prophet (Peace be upon him) tying two stones to his stomach in the battle of Khandaq.

When becoming angry, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) control of anger on the martyrdom of his beloved Uncle Hamza.

When losing a tooth, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) tooth in the battle of Uhud.

When bleeding from any part of the body, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) body covered in blood on his return from Ta'if.

When feeling lonely, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) seclusion in Mount Hira .

When feeling tired in Salaat, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) blessed feet in Tahajjud.

When being prickled with thorns, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) pain from Abu Lahab's wife.

When being troubled by neighbours, remember the old woman who would empty rubbish on the Prophet (Peace be upon him) .

When losing a child, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) son, Ibrahim.

When beginning a long journey, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) long journey to Madinah.

When going against a Sunnah, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) intercession, (Ummati, Ummati, Ummati) (My Ummah).

When sacrificing an animal, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) sacrifice of 63 animals for his Ummah.

Before shaving your beard, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) face rejecting the two beardless Iranians.

When falling into an argument with your wife, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) encounter with Aisha and Hafsa.

When experiencing less food in the house, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) days of poverty.

When experiencing poverty, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) advice to Ashaab-e-Suffa (People of Suffa).

When losing a family member, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) departure from this world.

When becoming an orphan, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) age at six.

When sponsoring an orphan, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) sponsor for Zaid ibn Haritha.

When fearing an enemy, remember the Prophet's (Peace be upon him) saying to Abu Bakr in Mount Thour.

Whatever situation you may find yourself in, remember your role model, the best of creation: Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

My apologies sister, but this is all that there is to this article, I was really touched after reading it so I thought that I'd share it with everyone. I agree it would have been better if they had elaborated on it. Alhumdulillah.

aslaamu alaikum wa rehmatUllah

Jazaki Allah khair sis for sharing this. subhanAllah!

Our RasulAllah SalAllahu alaihi wasallam was so simple and humble that he (salAllahu alaihi wasallam) had so little to eat... he would spend days with just dates and water (subhanAllah). There is wisdom and perfection in his every act... even eating so little had health benefits, and also cuz if he had 'luxurious' foods/meals to eat all the time,...the kuffaar probably would've accuse him of being too 'worldly' and 'rich'. subhAnAllah even eating less, he showed an example that this life's enjoyments r temporary and r nothing compared to the Hereafter. (now im not saying he wouldn't eat at all... he ate but in less quantities...in moderation).

Oh btw, SubhanAllah...RasulAllah (salAllahu alaihi wasallam) LOVED pumpkin ...hehe...thats so cool!

Anas ibn Malik (radhi Allahu anhu) said, "RasulUllah (pbuh) loved pumpkin. Once food was served for RasulAllah (pbuh) or he attended an invitation where pumpkin soup was served. I knew RasulUllah (pbuh) loved it. I searched for the pumpkin pieces from the soup and gave it to him."

subhan'allah, words cannot express the remarkable character of our beloved nabi (s.a.w)! There's this really good book called Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources by Martin Lings, its a great read. I read it so much that the spine's coming off- dont ask how that happened :) but yeah, it really helps to gain a more thorough understanding of the prophet (s.a.w)'s character. AMAZING read. When u read his biography and about the sufferings and hardships that our nabi went through to bring us this deen, we realize that what we are going through is NOTHING, compared to what he went through. May allah give us all the ability to be patient and grateful in every type of situation like our noble example (peace be upon him) Ameen.

REMEMBER....

When becoming humiliated, remember the Prophet (Peace be upon him) in Ta'if.

Bring forth the role models that people make today who would not have said 'yes' to the people of Ta'if being crushed by the mountains when asked by the angel, when they had done what they had done.

May Allah (Glorified is He) reward you for this sister!

Salaam.

As-Salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

Sister asked if there was further details of those points mention in the article.

Sister best advise I can give to you and others is that if you read the Seera of our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) then you will find that most, if not all, points mentioned above are elaborated on.

If you can, get the CD version of the Seera done by Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki. Superbly narrated.

Sister, if you like reading then I can suggest a great book. I'm sure most people that have this book will agree that it is one of the best Seera book published.

Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum
(THE SEALED NECTAR)

Fantastic book. Each time you read it, you will learn something new.

May Allah give you and others and myself more knowledge from it. Ameen.

Yeah, the Sealed Nectar is really good, but I like "Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest sources" by Martin Lings better...its more in-depth and detailed...and yeah, for sure I REALLY want to get that CD set by Anwar Awlaki, so far I've got Umar and Abu Bakr (r.a.) but yeah, inshallah thats the next one on the list. He's a really good speaker, no matter how many times I listen to his lectures, I never get bored... very talented mashallah. :)

As-salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

Yes, you are absolutely right. It is written by a Salafi but I don't see it being a problem. (I'm sure you don't either. I'm guessing you just wanted to point that out only). Personally I'm not a Salafi. Nor are my close friends. They all read the Sealed Nectar and thought it to be brilliant. Excellent insight to our beloved Prophet's (Peace and blessings be on him and his family) life.

A sister (Bint Mas'ood) recommended "Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest sources" by Martin Lings. Shukran for that. I heard it's pretty good. That should the one for me next Insha-Allah.

I just want to make a point on reading books written by various people.
With no disrespect to you sister (Noor ul Islam) but we should have an open mind and not just view things one way. We should broaden our horizon a bit and give other ppl a chance to see what they have to say. This doesn't mean to say we take everything what was said.
My closest friends brother is a Salafi. He's a very rational guy. He's adab is excellent for a young individual. He will sit and discuss about our deen with various people i.e HT and Tableeghi brothers. It is this what we need more of.

My point is we need more people getting together no what they believe and their methods of revival of Islam. We can only progress in our deen by looking at our faults and rectifying it rather than keep pointing at others telling them what they need to do.

I am a Hanafi follower and currently I'm trying to learn the basic Fiqh of the 5 pillars of Islam. Then I'll move on to Usool ul Fiqh, Insha-Allah. I'm not joined or affeliated to any group / jama'at. Maybe one day Insha-Allah.

Can anybody recommend any Hanafi fiqh books for me read?
