:salam:

I'm making a thread about this topic because in our world today, failing to have children is always blamed on women alone. Women are seen to be the culprits. They will be insulted, they will be blamed, they will be beaten, they will be tortured and they will be divorced and sent back home.

A very famous infertility doctor in Karachi (Benazir had children because of his ilaaj :P) said in an interview:

In 80% of the cases, the problem is found to be in the husband

But sadly enough, the EGOs of Men are so HUGE that they will put all the blame so easily on the WIFE and pretend to be Hero themselves.

The wife would be taken from Doctor to Hakeem, from hakeem to homeopathic doctor, and end up with a Desi Daee. But the husband's EGO will never allow him to go and get his tests done because of the fear that it might turn out to be faulty.

I have come across many cases in my family where the husband turns out to be the culprit.

I thought doctors didnt know what they were doing...?

:ws:

The problem i have with doctors is not because they did so and so to me. Or it's not like they're not deeni. Or like they deceive people. Nothing of this sort. The problem is, most of the time they don't even know what the problem is and the medicine they are prescribing, what it is composed of and what it does. They don't know anything.

Hmm suddenly they are reliable... wow.

Let maturity prevail.
Lets do a serious discussion on the matter of infertility.

Lets discuss about this real social problem that i think is not just in pakistan, but also prevalent in the subcontinent.

Giving offspring is a major factor for the stability of a Family. When a couple recognized they are infertile , Initially its the female partner that is held as guilty in most of the cases as Moulana mentioned. Its true and sad. The Husband is usually reluctant to even consider himself infertile.

Another problem that is faced in the subcontinent is the same problem faced in the Jahaliyya era before Islam in Arabian peninsula. Favoritism for Male children. If there is no Male child in the family most of the time the wife is blamed. But the fact is it depends on the Husband, since the sex of the child depends 100% on the Husband, as the Y chromosome for the male child can be supplied only by the Husband during fertilization.

What can be seriously done to remove such fallacy in our society?

Failure of conception is a great bounty from Allah; a pleasure without headache, plus it is the the Hikma of Allah :)
