Mahabba Unlimited, Q-News, JIMAS, IFE and Islamic Circles present:

SEEKING CLARITY IN THE AFTERMATH OF 7/7

with Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and Br Abu Muntasir Ali

Date: Monday 8th August 2005
Time: 7.30 (doors open from 6.00 pm)
Venue: London Muslim Centre, 60-80 Whitechapel Road, London, E1 1JX

A special evening with Shaykh Hamza Yusuf Hanson and Br Abu Muntasir
ibn Mohar Ali, who will reflect on the grave events of 7th July 2005
and outline ways forward for Muslims in the UK. Tickets can only be
purchased at the door. Spaces are limited so do make sure you arrive
early.

* Shaykh Hamza Yusuf Hanson was born in Washington State and raised
in Northern California. He accepted Islam in 1977 and subsequently
travelled to the Muslim world, studying for ten years in the UAE,
Saudi Arabia, as well as North and West Africa. He received teaching
licenses in various Islamic subjects from well-known scholars. After
ten years of studies abroad, he returned to the USA and took degrees
in Religious Studies and Health Care. He later founded the Zaytuna
Institute. He was the first American lecturer to teach in Morocco's
oldest University, the Kairoiuin in Fez. He has also translated into
a number of classical Arabic texts and poems. He currently resides
in Northern California with his wife and four children.

* Br Abu Muntasir is perhaps one of the most competent all round
speakers in the UK. He is currently the president of Jam'iat Ihyaa
Minhaaj As-Sunnah, a charity based in Ipswich, and is a Software
Engineer by profession. Abu Muntasir has been involved in da'wah
work across the UK consistently for over 20 years and has extensive
experience in both teaching and Muslim social affairs. As a pioneer
in the field of Islamic da'wah, who is well travelled abroad, he
has met and introduced many now well-known speakers to the UK. Br
Abu Muntasir, as a dedicated father of several children, makes
time to organise the annual JIMAS conference in Leicester, delivers
lectures on a variety of relevant topics around the country, and
offers sensible, practical advice to those who seek it.

When Times in England are dull and bleak,
Come and listen to shaykh Hamza Speak
He is an american and his parents are orthodoxic greek,
And his words are beyond eloquence's peak

Such is only my recommendation,
To our youth drowned in anger and frustration
Flinging at the kuffar many a damnation,
And accusing our great ulema of pacifism and stagnation

But their own knowledge lacks sound foundation,
But they bark outside mosques like a wild alsation
Maa-Sa-Ja-Da-Places designed not for noise but for prostration,
Moaning with the pain of their own intellectual constipation

So in London we hear of bombs and terror,
By so called muslims who want to create panic and furor
Which for a traditional muslim is the gravest error
The pure soul views these things with only horror

So leave their gatherings-immature,
And come drink at the light of wisdom and noor,
The teacher of maliki fiqh with ilm that doth endure
For every sickness a proven Cure.

Abu Muntasir is a very balanced salafi.

Not like the ****************** lot...

HE has respect and very open minded...nice bro

We need to find good allies like him..
Insha'allah the salafis in england will be more open to tasawuf etc after this...

From www.deenport.com

Shaykh Hamza Yusuf lectures in Leeds and London definitely postponed for a few days - they are no longer on the 6th and 8th. Exact dates will be re-announced shortly.

And I was so looking forward to this!

Yes Hamza Yusuf was unwell therefore the London talk was cancelled (not sure about the Leeds one)

Hopefully, the Shaykh will be better soon and the talk re-organised inshaAllah...
