Using your index finger

Does it aid memorization to place your index finger under each word as you recite it?

Their are many ways, i saw some video of a sheikh who said that always having the same Quran gives a visual images of it. So find the best suitable way for you and ask Allah. :)

I don't know if it aids or not but one thing I can say from experience is don't stick to one specific Mushaf while memorizing. People stick to like 13 lined Quran or 15 lined Quran. I've seen them go crazy when they can't find the same mushaf. They can't read from any other mushaf.

I myself have memorized some parts without any specific mushaf. It is difficult but stronger. And you don't become paralyzed if you don't have a specific mushaf.

Yeah, i have done Hifz in 16 lines, if i read in others quran different to 16 lines, i will be confused. :)
