My name is Rukayat Yakub and I run small women's non-profit called the Yan Taru Foundation (www.yantaru.org) This year we are sponsoring a women's design contest:
The Yan Taru Charitable and Educational Foundation is sponsoring a youth fashion design contest in an effort to recognize and highlight the creativity and talent of Muslim youth. We understand the major impact fashion has on youth and would like to help facilitate a means for our young Muslim women to design and wear their own Islamic outfits. Through this contest we hope that talented designers are discovered, our youth have an opportunity to enjoy expressing their creativity, and we all realize that Islamic attire can be beautiful, diverse and fashionable.
