As salaam,
I recently saw this hadeeth on Rafa al Yedain...
From `Alqamah, he said, "I prayed behind `Abdullah ibn Mas'ud and he did not raise his hands, i.e at the time of going for ruku' and after lifting his head from ruku', so I said to him, "Why do you not lift your hands?" So he said, "I prayed behind Rasoolullah Sallallahu `alyhi wa Sallam and behind Abu Bakr and `Umar and they did not lift their hand except at the time of the Takbir with which they began their salah""
Where can we find this hadeeth and what is its status?
Did Alqama the narrator of this hadeeth (and other hadeeths which negate rafa al yedain) in first case raise his hands before and after ruko and did he after the occasion mentioned in the hadeeth abandoned it?
I only know this hadeeth in a brief version namely:
Abdullah bin Masud narrated that :"I prayed behind Rasoolullah Sallallahu `alyhi wa Sallam and behind Abu Bakr and `Umar and they did not lift their hand except at the time of the Takbir with which they began their salah""
(bayhaqi, daraqutni,abu yaala)
And about the brief version did Imam Nasai declared Sahih? and who more?
Was salaam

I haven't come across that version above but it is similar to the version I discussed with you via email. Unless we have a Hadith reference it is a little more difficult to determine its Isnad and authenticity. As for the similar version it is in al-Kamil of ibn Adi and:
Al-Daraqutni in his Sunan (no. 975)
Al-Bayhaqi in his Sunan al-Kubra (no. 2355) and in his Ma’rifatus Sunan (no. 836)
Al-Uqayli in his Du’afa al-Kabir (no. 1742)
Abu Bakr al-Isma’ili in his Mu’jam al-Shuyukh (no. 326)
And in the Musnad Abu Ya’la al-Mawsuli (no. 4909) whose wording is presented below as an example of the Arabic text:
حدثنا إسحاق بن أبي إسرائيل ، حدثنا محمد بن جابر ، عن حماد ، عن إبراهيم ، عن علقمة ، عن عبد الله قال صليت مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأبي بكر وعمر فلم يرفعوا أيديهم إلا عند افتتاح الصلاة وقد قال محمد : فلم يرفعوا أيديهم بعد التكبيرة الأولى

The Mustalah of this Hadith names who Muhammad is in the very sanad presented in the arabic text from Imam Abu Ya'la al-Mawsuli. Simply, Muhammad is: Muhammad ibn Jabir.
