I have a gash on my left hand, and every time I take my wudhu' it really hurt. Would my wudhu' still be viable if I don't apply water on part of my hand? :/

no you would have pass water over it. how bad is it. do you think water would make it worse & prolong the injury?
You dont have rub hard over the cut, & you also dont need to run alot of water over it. it will ok just to be sure that the entire hand is washed when doing your arms. so maybe take a cup pour some water over it gently & then wash the rest of the arm properly-just do this once.

Asalamu Alaikum,
I'm assuming that 'gash' means you have a pretty deep cut. I just had this situation recently when I split the top of my thumb wide open while sharpening a cleaver. The cut has to remain dry in order to heal. Otherwise, it constantly being wet will slow the healing big time. So what I did was buy this stuff called liquid bandage and apply it directly into the wound. It has an antiseptic in it and when it drys, creates a covering on the would so it does not get wet. This way, the water touches all parts of the area, but just does not enter the wound thus allowing it the time it needs to heal. Hope this helps. May Allah grant you a speedy recovery.

i think you should consult a scholar on using the liquid bandage becasue it will prevent the water from reaching the skin.

had a class last night & this was mentioned. since the cut is in a place that is wajib to wash in wudhu & also wajib to make masah over during tayammum. you will have to remove the bandage & was around the wound & then make masah over the wound. if this isnt possible you make wudhu like normal & upon reaching the affected area you make tayammu & then carry on with the wudhu. but you would need to make qhadha since the dust will not be rubbed over the wound.
