As-salamu alaykum.

a weird thought has popped up in my head - so i was thinking that the shahadah, the first part of it : la ilaha illa Allah is the testimony that there is no god other than Allah: that it is a negation of the existence of gods other than Allah, but not the affirmation of the existence of Allah. then i got round thinking, what is the evidence of the existence of Allah from the Qur'an or Hadith, is there a verse from the Qur'an that says: "Allah exists" period. then i thought, there are such verses as "all praises be to Allah, the Lord of All Worlds, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful" and how the Qur'an describes that God sent down the Qur'an, and it is he who created man, and created the heavens and the earth, and sent down rain, etc, so Allah must exist because for Allah to possess attributes and carry out actions, He must exist.
But then a weirder thought came, what if the word 'Allah" in the places in the Qur'an can mean "nothing", that is, when it is said, "He sends down the rain" could it mean "nothing sends down the rain", when it is said "We have sent down to you a book" could it mean "nothing have sent down the book" or "Allah who created the heavens and the earth" could it mean "nothing created the heavens and the earth", or "God is one" could it mean "nothing is One"

So i guess my questions are
1. is there any evidence from the Qur'an or hadith that says 'Allah exists"
2. could it be that "Allah" or "We" or "He" mean "nothing", i mean, could it be read such as that, or interpreted such as that, is there a possibility
3. is the verse la ilaha illa Allah mere a negation of other gods other than Allah, is there an affirmation of the existence of Allah in the kalima

and i know this stuff makes me sound as if im sort of a zindiq or a nutjob but trust me this thing this thought running thru your head it gets pretty distressful, it's really troublesome

and thank you in advance for answering

:ws: bro.
What you are going through is waswaas, whispering of Shaytaan. Ignore it. To understand it more read the book attached. Its a small book but highly beneficial.

doesn't the holy kalima mean:

"No god is worthy of worship except Allah....."

and NOT "there is no God except Allah..."

either way, for the sentence to make sense Allah must be god or God.

:salam: Brother

I hope this reply finds you with increased strength of iman. It is correct to say that these thoughts are merely waswasas from Allah

Everytime Allah is mentioned in the Qur'an or Hadith, it is evidence that Allah exists. The very existence of the Qur'an and hadith are evidence of His existence.
No
illa Allah is affirmation in itself.

Evidence proving the existence of Allah is not required because each and every soul (including yourself) testified to Towheed before you were born.

From the Quran (Surah A'raaf 7:172):

6945

When your Rabb extracted from the backs of the children of Aadam and called them to witness over themselves saying, "Am I not your Rabb?" They replied, "Certainly! We testify to it." So that they do not say on the day of Qiyaamah, "Indeed we were unaware of this."
