وقد جاء في كتب الحديث ذكر الملك الهندي ؛ الذي وصل إلى النبي – صلى الله عليه وسلم فِفي مستدرك الحاكم : "عن أبي سعيد الخدري – رضي الله عنه – قال: ثم أهدى ملك الهند إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم – جرة فيها زنجبيل، فأطعم أصحابه قطعة قطعة، وأطعمني منها قطعة. قال الحاكم ولم أحفظ في أكل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم - الزنجبيل سواه"

“Then the King of India gave Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) a gift, a bottle of pickle that had ginger in it. The Holy Prophet distributed it among his Companions. I also received a piece of it to eat.”

As for the authenticity then two narrators have been disparaged; 'Amr Bin Hakim and 'Ali Bin Zayd.
