Asslam-u-alaikum
Dear brothers and sisters actually i want to answer the thread "Traweeh:reading from mushaf", the thread is closed but i have last words to say;

(1)i appreciate positive criticism and thankful to brothers who answer. The answer is not complete, one should know the complete conclusion.
"In our Hanafi fiqh Farz,Wajib & Sunnat-e-Muakkidah have the same Ahkaam(rules & regulations) by a difference of few degrees. As Traweeh is Sunnat-e-muakkidah so the prohibition of reading from the Mushaf applies to traweeh as well.In other fiqh it may be a Nafila prayer,i'm not sure about that.want to say more but leaving here and not discussing the case which i announced before.

(2)It's Hazrat Rasool-e-Kareem(S.A.W) saying that "Whole of Deen is Adab". We Ahl-e-Sunnah wal-jamaa'h love & believe completely The Quran,Sunnah and also the interpretation of Aiemah,we keep all of them in due respect.

(3)Being a Muqallad my purpose of quoting Ahaadith & Aassar has also been that many non-muqallads or salfi also read this matter but still they don't act in accordance with them.may quoting these Ahaadith & Aassar show them the true picture.
may Almighty Allah "The Haadi",guide us and keep us on "Sirat-e-Mustaqeem" Amen.with lot of Duas Wassalam.

:salam:

:jazak: Brother Imran. I appreciate that you have recognised that my critisisms were not meant in a derogatory manner, but nonetheless please excuse me if I may have caused any offence. :insh: you will use the critisism offered to the benefit of yourself and others.

The grading of positive acts in the Maliki school runs, wajib (fardh), sunnah, fadeela and nawafil. My use of the term nafila was general, relating to all superogatory acts. And salaatu'l-Taraaweh is a fadeela.

A reference for the Maliki position can be found in, 'al-Mudawwanatu'l-Kubra' of Sahnun, and it is the main source book of the school.

Lastly if we all adopted the course I prefer in answering questions/holding discussions on this forum (as Mawlana Eat-Halal :jazak: has done) the forum would be pretty dry. So Brother Imran 'dont feel no way' and 'fill yer boots'.

With Peace

One thing I would like to say is that if someone seeks a hanafi answer, we should strive to provide the answer from hanafi sources and hanafi scholars rather than shafii or hanbali or maliki. Likewise if the seeker is shafii, hanbali or maliki.

My 2 cents.

:mash: Sunnilink, I feel, maybe, its the responibility of the one who asks for an opinion to act according to their madhhab. Since this is a forum and the nature of a forum is that we shared ideas and views, is it not?

Also in this particular case the brother was sreaming for an answer for days no body was forthcoming so I chipped in with my tuppence worth. I think, intimating something similar to what you have said

i agree with you because this forum isn't for discussion only, brothers and sisters are seeking for solution of their problems or Masaail according to their fiqh. This forum must be used to unite the ummah not to produce Tafariqah.

Good news. I found a Hanafi hafidh who reads the full 20 rakahs; so we just pray fardh at the masjid, then go to his apartment tarawih. alhamdulillah

:alhamd: It seems like Allah :taala: has put you in the good, after reading the taraweh thread in the mens section.

You wanna see what you've started ;) (maybe I started it  ), wa'Llahu a`lam.

:salam: I passed by sunnipath and saw Sidi Faraz's fatwa on this, very reasonable and responsible (a good utilization of fiqh), may Allah reward him with good.

With Peace.

i was also readin the other post regarding 8 or 20 rakahs, ppl were a bit confused, i just wanted to add that the prophet muhammed saw prayed 8 rakahs, so there fore that is a sunnah, the prophet muhammed saw sed, follow my sunnah and the sunnah of the four rightly guided kalifs. umar radiyallah anhu being one of them, sed to pray 20 rakahs, now we dnt know if he meant that for just those ppl of that time, but what im saying, is that from this we can gather that it wudnt be wrong to pray 8 and wouldnt be wrong to pray 20, if the imam is praying 8 then fllow him and pray 8, n dnt pray the rest at home, but then nafil prayers are up to u, if the imams prayin 20 then pray 20.

the reason why they pray 20 rakahs in mecca is that the ppl who are doing tawaf miss the prayer, so the imam, (sometimes they change) leads taraweeh for them also. as when one is doing tawaf u gotta finish it.

I maybe wrong but I think that 20 Taraweeh in Haram is due to following the tradition of Hazrat Umer Razi Allahu unHu. For eleven centuries the Ummah prayed only 20 rakaat of Taraweeh and that had been the tradition in the Haram as well eversince. Wassalaam
