A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in
>use while the other disused. Only one child played on the disused track,
>the
>rest on the operational track. The train came, and you were just beside
>the track interchange. You could make the train change its course to the
>disused track and saved most of the kids.
>
>However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the disused track
>would be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go its way?
>
>Let's take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make.........

Maybe if the train went on the disued track it will not only kill the one kid BUT cause the train to derail and kill some people in it AND maybe it might fall onto the other kids IF the train tracks were next to each other?

deaf kids or super-silent train?

Seriously, I think there is a fiqhi rule about this, taking the lesser of the two evils (awhan ul baliatayn?)

could also be a matter of principles... the kids prolly know that the track is operational and should not be playing there. whereas the other kid has every right playing there since the track is derelict.

now if you let the train carry on on it's normal operational track, the children would be to blame for the outcome. but if you flip the switch, YOU would be responsible for the outcome. make sense?

hey thats wat i mentioned wen we were discussin this in the sis section...

not who to blame but the whole purpose of your duty and yr role as a train driver...
its like a doc who has a choice a critically ill 90 yr old woman or a 17 yr old failry stable teen.. who do they operate on first?

its his/her duty to do their work without discriminatiin, and attend to the one who needs the most attention...
in the same way withthe track... its "wrong" to value the life of one child who behaved less than lots of kids who didnt...

trains move way to fast for ppl to get away... no matter wat they show in tele

hmm how does the lesser of the two evils count here? as in kill 1 child or kill more?
