Asalam aylikum brothers and sisters
I would like to recommend a Sunni, Shia forum which I noticed was lacking in this great forum.
I am asking this because I want to bring closer the two people so that they might understand each other better. The Shia forum has a Sunni/Shia forum and it would be great if the Sunni brothers would have one too. Because I am sure many Shias and Sunnis sisters and brothers are eager to find out more about the each other.

Sorry to say but I doubt that would be a very good idea.
We have people that are very passionate about their beliefs and a sunni-shia forum would be in constant debate, head bashing, slagging and fighting.
Our beliefs are not similar at all and there is noway either of the two sects are going to agree on anything.
No can do :)

It is a better idea to isolate each other and keep up the false lies and propaganda? No
Bringing people in one room will be better then shutting up everyone in different rooms.
In one room they can shed light to their beliefs, sources and motives and by sharing this you might learn more about each other and with understanding comes tolerance and respect.
For example most Sunnis dont know anything about Shias except prejudice things they heard and most Shias dont know about Sunnis except prejudice things they heard.
Instead of allowing the prejudice and false propaganda to grow I suggest we cut off the head of false propaganda and prejudice by defying them in a forum.
Yes Mauwiyeh brother there will be some emotional people in the forum but those HANDFUL of emotional people RUIN it for the greater people and for this we have MODERATORS which are supervisors and who can easily clear the forum of these handful of hypocrits and propagandists be it sunni, shia or wahhabi.

Is it propaganda that you guys dont belive in Hadhrat Abu Bakr (R.A) and Hadhrat Umar (R.A) and Hadhrat Uthmaan (R.A) as khalifahs and that you slag em off?
And then you want respect and tolerance?

Asalam aylikum,
it is prejudice that comes out of your tongue on this moment.
because everyone knows that SHIAS dont RECOGNIZE the first three and not HATE or CURSE them. Imam Ali and most Shias respect the first three caliphs no question about that. But just because a handful of shias call them names and etc. doesnt mean we all support the hate and cursing of these men.
I myself was Hanafi Sunni before my conversion to the madhab of Shi'a Ali.
I have studied Umar ibn al-Khattabs sources and biography alot and I respect him ALOT and so did Imam Ali.
I yet have to see a shia rule which allows Shias to curse the 3 caliphs. its forbidden in Iran to curse the three.
Only the fanatics and a handful of shias do this.

Okay. So why dont you recognise them?
I'm only talking from what have seen, and if women at the Rawdhah are a handful then so be it.
I hear newt but curses coming out of their gobs.
I never hear a salam (simple peace) upon the two Sahabas that are resting there...
If that is prejudice.. sure i dont mind :)

well you must belong to some exceptional firqah of the shi'ites then as for the Ithna `Ashari shi'ite, their cursing and reviling of the first three khulafa is well known and can be seen in the books of their classical scholars. for example refer to Haq ul Yaqeen - Mulla Baqar Majlisi page 258 printed in Tehran

asalam aaylikum
we follow the teachings of the sunnah and the 12 Imams after rasool pbuh
I dont care what asharis say or think because for majority of shias its irrelevant what they say because we only recognize the 12 imams and sunnah. I as a former hanafi know more of false propaganda then most of you so dont tell me how shias are in the perspective of sunnis because I KNOW HOW THEY ARE or at least MOST of them.
But I accepted Shi'ism not because of them but because after reading Imam Ali's(ra) narrations and that of the other imams and rasools (pbuh) love for Hasan(ra) and Huseyn(ra) I became convinced that the imamate was to be theirs.
Most of the Islamic world is Sunni because of Mauwiyah and Yazeed. If it wasn't Mauwiyeh who fought Imam Ali(ra) then everyone would be Shia today. But since Mauwiyeh got lucky and Imam Ali(ra) got assassinated it was Mauwiyehs turn to change Islam the way he fitted. This is why most Shias reside in areas who defied Umayyad reign.
I am not here to discuss the sunni/shia dialogue but this is where I PLEE FOR I want you to dedicate more attention to this and bring the two muslim cousins closer by giving them a forum to discuss it with each other.
I want sunnis and shias to talk with each other in peace and not isolate each other and spread propaganda.

But I do have 1 question for my sunni brothers,
MOD: congratulations, your question got you banned. Way to go.
Asalam aylikum brother and sister,
I never disrespected the first 3 khalifa's. My infant son of 2 years old is called Umar and I was a Hanafi before I converted. So I ask you how could I of ever have insulted the first 3 caliphs in your perspective?
Because of a single question?
And how come I was unbanned later this day?
Can I have some clarification from the moderators? because I was accused of cursing at the 3 caliphs and I will object to this false claim because I have not cursed at them and neither disrespected them.
So I will ask you moderators:
1. WHY WAS I BANNED?
2. WHY WAS I UNBANNED THE SAME DAY?
3. WHY DO YOU ACCUSE ME OF SLANDERING AT THE FIRST 3 CALIPHS?
4. WHY DONT YOU ALLOW ME TO ASK THE QUESTION I DID BEFORE I GOT 'BANNED'? because my question contains no name callings or slanderings or disrespect for the first three caliphs....

asalam aylikum brother,
Salman did not give me any explanation except that I was accused of 'slandering at Abu Bakr(ra), Umar(ra) and Uthman(ra).
I would like to know why my question was called 'slandering at the 3 caliphs'.
Have you read my question?

You were not banned because you were a Shia. However, you did speak ill of a Sahaba which is liable for a ban.
I am unbanning you Insha'Allah after doing mashwera with Br. Saleel but you should be careful brother the way you ask your questions. If you want to bring forth questions then maybe you can state it as something like "What do the Sunnis think of (Sayyidina) Muawiyah when it is stated that he did this and this?" and then Insha'Allah someone can answer those claims. To call him a "tyrant" is slander to us just as calling one of the 12 Imams "tyrants" is slander to you.
I hope you understand.

ty·rant

An absolute ruler who governs without restrictions.

Brother, your saying that Sayyidina Mu'awwiyah RadhiAllahuanhu interpreted Islam how he wished and disregarded the Shariah and Sunnah in his rule ... basically this would mean he ruled without restriction?
also
"Changing Islam to how he fitted"... How can one say that?
Slander...unacceptable.
So like brother salman said no you were not banned b/c you're shia, rather becuase you disrespected a Sahabi RadhiAllahuanhu, and this would be worthy of banning. Whether one agrees with Mu'awwiyah or any ofthe Sahabah RadhiAllahuanhum in their Rulings/justifications or not, any disrespect towards them will NOT be tolerated. :jazak:

I dont think it would be possible for a sunni shia forum to make things worse. At least it might clear up some of the crazy, based-on-hate "facts" going around & seperate the lies being spread from the truth.

Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal in Musnad narrate a hadith from Ibn Abbas in which the Holy Prophet(s.a.a.w.) said: “I want to save you from the punishment of Hell . I ask you to fear Hell and make no changes in the religion of Allah(s.w.t.). When I die and separate from you, I shall be present at the Fountain of Kauther. Whoever reaches me there is saved. At the end of time when I find a large number of people caught in Divine chastisement, I shall say: “O Allah! These are the people of my community.’ The reply shall be:” Verily, these people returned to their old creed after you.” According to Tabrani’s version (Kabir) the reply would be: “You do not know what innovations they introduced after you. They adopted their former religion of ignorance.” These are both sunni sources of hadith which cannot be denied (and so should not be banned!)
Yeah, companions shouldn’t be disrespected, thats why i dont like the fact that Muawiya himself ordered the cursing of Ali ibn Abi Talib(a.s). Also noted by Tabari that when Muawiya was informed of the death of the grandson of the Holy Prophet of Islam, Imam Hussein(a.s) he shouted the takbir (“Allahu Akbar”). Read up on his caliphate. He ordered the killing of many believers (Malik Akhtar, also Muhammed bin Abi Bakr and Amr bin As upon his orders). Again read up on it if you doubt me, even some of your own scholars admit it.

Salamu alaikum
This is a comments and suggestions forum - not the indepth forum so whatever one wants to argue about should be taken to the appropriate forum.
As for a Sunni-shia forum, then right now it is not in the picture. We are already very wary about the In-Depth Forum, and to add another debates forum is simply - in our opinion - not beneficial and a further cause of Fitna. SunniForum was made for other then this purpose. However, feel free to ask questions or have discussions in the In-Depth forum.
Sister assalamu alaikum and Br. Amr, if you have anything you would like to discuss "respectfully" then you may do so in the In-Depth Forum Insha'Allah. Remember that Sunnis respect "all" the Sahaba not just the khulafa.
As for why you were unbanned - then the reason is because, after discussing with Saleel, we thought that a ban would be harsh. We made a mistake for banning you and ask for apologies.
Topic closed for now.
