Assalamu alaikum wr wb

its very good the clothes, i have a couple of their outfits and its very good material. some ppl think that their clothes are expensive but then i say is it more expensive than the name stores like stitches, sirens and jc penny's and macy's type clothes? Some western clothes and shoes go as high as 200 and 300 dollars and ppl dont find that a problem but a good muslim business is selling their outfits for a good price deal and ppl say thats its a lot of money but it's not... and its halal meaning its going towards a muslim business and a muslim family from it so its better to support them right?

but the clothes and products that they have are amazing..masha'Allah.....

also if you're size is not available or if someone gets you something but its the wrong size they'll let you exchange it for something else of that value or less or more....

indeed, i own a few of their products- they are among the best clothes that i have had, and they are truly the best islamic clothing i've ever owned, mashaAllah. the kufis in particular, are far above the competition.

:bism:
Perhaps, but it is worth it. :cheesygri

Akhi Alex is quite correct, their kufis are beyond compare, especially the 100% cotton turban hat, which I just got (now if I can just find an imamah. Any recommendations? :cheesygri ). Wallahi! It's incredibly confortable.
If you think they are too expensive (Goldi, you cheapskate  ), I would recommend visiting their booth at the ISNA convention (if anyone one of you can stomach that wahhabi venue. ROFL I always laugh when I hear "isna" and "wahabbi" in the same sentence). Specifically, during the last day of the conference, when the bazaar has some mad sales goin on.

I am not cheap. I just... dont like paying full price for anything.

and to be honest man, if anyone on this board ever ended up at ISNA, I am very sure they would have a heart attack. I'm sure that's a good thing. I think.

I would argue that isna could care less what it is. Infact, i'd even go as far as saying isna would create their own madhab if they felt like it. but thats just me.

if you were at a bazaar and you saw shukr clothes being on sale, and then you saw some westernized clothes almost the same as shukr but tight fitted etc but a bit more, which would you go with? some would say they would go for the westernized one as its more fashionable and better despite they would be paying more for it, its ok if they pay more for this as its a non muslim business... but if its a muslim business these ppl should know better cuz its from one muslim to another and they should not hike up the prices they should put it down to a good level of prices like all under 50 dollars and even 10 dollars or so for some of the items despite that this is an islamic muslim business and they need to make a living too... yet ppl dont find a westernized company clothing and shoes a high price yet if its a muslim business they seem to say that's too expensive.

same would go for program and events and classes, if the classes are a certain price like 20 dollars for the class, it includes materials, and meals (refreshments and snacks or even meals served) and pays a bit for the teachers ppl end up raising their eyebrows asking why it cant all be free? expecting the teachers and organizers to pay for everything all because its an islamic "muslim" event that they dont want to pay any money out of their own pockets they rather have someone else provide for them fully....

However if its an unislamic event, like a concert or a regular college class or program you are attending the price for the ticket is 50 dollars, no food is included in it, materials are extra, ppl end up paying the price saying thats how it is and they have to pay for it. They dont really make a fuss about it despite they might complain the prices are a bit steep yet they'll pay it because its a non muslim business or program or event.

It's a sad state that we're in if we are going to point out that the muslim events should give us a freebie and hand us everything on a silver platter yet if its a non islamic event we seem to be ok with all their prices and rules.

Shukr, Caravan Saray, SV, and Astrolabe and other islamic businesses all have to make money in order for their business to grow and in order for them to make a living. These are their jobs, their careers and how they do this to get through life. Whereas some ppl work in Stitches, Walmart, McD's, Popeyes that's their business, their career to make a living and get through life.

I say alhamdulillah we should support the islamic businesses out there because if we didnt support them then they wouldnt be there to help us out in getting the things we need to help our deen, instead we would be relying on the other products and im not saying all those other products are bad but just that it wouldnt hurt to have these islamic businesses and even if we think the prices are high, they are reasonable... think how much a dress like they have would be in a regular store... not less, more yet we wouldnt question it... we wont bargain with the ppl in these stores yet with a muslim business you would. (then again some ppl would bargain with these other businesses too more than the muslim business).

lol, im sure they would NOW, but i was referring to their original um 'ideology' i guess would be the word. because isna started out as msa memebers who had left uni and needed another medium.

but, they sure do invite some HYPE traditional scholars to their conventions (i.e. shaykh yacoubi, shaykh hamzah and imam zaid).

I've bought from shukr. Personally i found the clothes made of too heavy a material, making it uncomfortable... and they were expensive. I think i wore the things once then that was it. The quality was ok, but I didn't really like wearing them due to their heaviness they were too hot to wear and looked a bit wierd... You'd stand out too much wearing them.

Asalam Alykum,

Am i the only one who doesnt care about what I wear and how I look as far as I am comfortable and moderate.

If you all want to invest then buy your clothes from desi lands where 100% of the market is muslim and your investment goes to actually poor families. There are tonnes of outlets in IPB and Arab countries where clothing line and style is faaaaaar better than Shukr.

I dont understand why people turn Islam into some money making machine.. There are people selling misbah and tasbeehs that have a sky rocketing prices... so the name of the game becomes "Who has the most expensive misbah" ...

Just wear what is available and if you do have extra money, give it as sadaqa so someone else out there, who has "nothing" to wear can actually cover his body.
