anyone know if watching the olympics or particularly gymnastics part would be considered halal or not?

actually i asked this q to sunnipath and got my answer back....
The answer was since awrah was showing and tight fitting clothes it would not be halal to watch and also watching it was a waste of time as you were watching it in idleness. So I thought to myself I guess this is something totally different compared to the hadith of where the Prophet SAW let Ayesha (RA) watch the african dance and performance, I guess that would be ok to watch yet watching the olympics would not be as it does show lots more awrah than the time before... and lots of other fitnah is also involved, .i.e. music with instruments, mixed gatherings, and ppl with no shame in dressing immodestly etc...

but just wanted to get a discussion going since it is going on and lots of ppl are rooting for their country and watching it, wanted to ask whether it would be halal or not.. now i know that its not im not going to bother with it but I know tons of others even realizing it is haram to watch they'll still do whatever they want in the end as they'll say its between me and Allah swt.
