  1. Turtles and Fish

by on 26-01-2010 at 04:57 AM

The other day another epiphany struck me, when one of my friend mentioned that if a fish cannot live without water, how can a Muslim live without the love of Allah? It was a nice metaphor and it made sense at first, but it got me thinking, are we really like fish?

To me, there are a few gems that are perhaps like fish in water, ie Allah has blessed them with His love indefinitely from the start. But most of us, we’re more like baby sea turtles. If someone is ...

  2. Climbing Up and Beyond

by on 16-01-2010 at 07:02 PM

Something I wrote a few months back. I know it might seem weird to some or hit home for others; it was written through my perspective about how I personally feel.

Where have I been all this time?
I thought my world was bright and sweet
Yet I was a fool, tricked by the Deceiver

by on 08-01-2010 at 07:45 PM

Sometimes things happen (maybe not to oneself but to another person) that just makes you stop and re-evaluate yourself and your life, take into account the people you know, the things you do… I suppose the point has been got. Such a thing happened to me today, and since then I have been in thought.

I keep thinking about two things:

    1. The things we take for granted.
    2. The fact that no matter how much we choose to rely upon people in this ...

  5. The Road

by on 06-01-2010 at 07:04 PM
    The road was straight
    The destination was known
    The directions were given
    The map was at hand
    And the goal was clear

A pity we find ourselves lost at the sight of a narrow alleyway
A pity we forget the end of our journey on seeing a bargain shop
A pity we take no heed from a similar traveler attempting to direct us back to the road
A pity we opt to take precarious and risky shortcuts rather than the safe and straight path
    And
