From time to time in our college we used to run into non Muslims who are interested in Islam. This often happened in irreligious circles more than the religious ones. I don't know what the Divine Decree was behind it but it was a strange phenomenon. So these non Muslims were close friends of non practicing Muslims. I don't know where the term "non practicing" is in Quran and Hadith, I don't know what the equivalent of that term would be. Not once but many times I heard these non Muslims ...

It is no doubt that Shaytan Rajim had a lot of gnosis of Allah swt but do not count Adam (as) out so quickly, he is of course the father of mankind. The gnosis Adam (as) had far surpassed Shaytan. How? When being questioned for his sin Hazrat Adam (as) did not give any excuses, no explanations, no logic, "oh I am like this and he is like that and the situation was such and therefore this is like this..." no, he said nothing of the sort. Adam (as) simply said "Rabbana zalamna..." ...

At the time when Shaytan Rajim was being dismissed from heaven, from nearness of Allah swt, he made dua for Allah swt to grant him respite till the day of Judgement - surprisingly Allah swt accepted the dua.

How strange that even at the time of being kicked out from heaven as a result of his disobediance to Allah swt, Allah swt still accepted his dua. Our ulama say that this is a lesson for us to never entertain the thought that Allah swt won't accept our dua, that the mercy of Allah ...

These people who trash tasawwuf or call it a bid'a, or maybe they don't call it an innovation but they don't see a need for it, I say to these people let us leave all other matters for now and focus on the first ayah of the Holy Quran. In Surah Fatiha we all read "Alhamdulillahi rabbil alameen" - let us ask these people how we can bring this ayat to its haal level in our life, how we can manifest this ayat in our life? Tasawwuf is needed for sure to do this. I would be shocked if someone ...
