  1. Mit Mit Kay Mit Ja - Wilayah

Continuing on, when he mentions wilayah in the poem he is talking about wilayat e khaasa, a unique, special, close attachment a person develops with Allah swt.

Wilyah is divided into two categories; (1) wilayat e aamma, (2) wilayat e khaasa. All believers have wilayat e aamma, a general "friendship" with Allah swt, alhamdulillah. Allah swt is Al Mumin, and He calls us Mumineen. What an honor! We all should be very grateful for this, appreciate it, value it and maintain it, ...

  2. Mit Mit Kay Mit Ja - Nightly Vigils

In the poem he mentions about nightly vigils - "Don't think that you have attained wilayah (a special closeness to Allah swt) simply by staying awake (in worship) at night."

Nightly vigils, doing some sort of ibadat (worship) at night, is a trait of ahlullah. This is why he has linked "wilayah" in this line. Ahlullah are known to do some sort of worship at night, either all night or a portion of the night. Some ahlullah even today spend the entire night in worship ...

  3. Mit Mit Kay Mit Ja - Comparison to dogs

In the poem he writes that,

"By spending the night in vigil don't think you have gained wilayah, because even dogs stay awake at nights."

This is a very powerful line and its really pierces through the heart of anyone who does nightly vigil whether they be a shaikh or mureed. The theme of the poem is humility and humbleness and this line drives the concept home even further. A few things are mentioned in this line:

    (1) Nightly vigils

  4. Mit Mit Kay Mit Ja - False Praise

Towards the end of the poem the poet asks,

    "Bhuliyoun kyun awqaat tu apni?"

    And then says,

    "Jhooti hai wah wah faqeera"

He is saying, "Why have you forgotten your value? Why have you forgotten your wealth? Why have you forgotten your place? The praise you are getting is all lies, O Faqeer! Annihilate yourself!"

What he is saying here is, "Why have you forgotten that you have no zaati kamali ...

  5. Mit Mit Kay Mit Ja - An example of annihilation

Before you do any task think why you're doing it.

"I am (insert task here) because it is the hukum (commandment) of Allah swt." Or in some cases, "I am not doing this task because Allah swt commands not to do it."

Let us see a couple of examples of how this works:

"I am going to eat because it is a commandment of Allah swt."

"I am doing this service to my parents because it is a commandment of Allah swt." ...
