I could say quite a bit about Sheikh Uthman but I think his academics are on his previous website Shatibiyyah Institute at http://www.shatibiyyah.org/instructors.htm

All I can tell you is that he is an amazing person for his age. Very easy going and friendly. Allah give him long life to benefit our new generation. From what I hear he uses some cutting edge ways of teaching tajweed. InshAllah once I take some time out to take some lessons from him, he will have to sharpen his chisel to cut my edge properly
