Become Sedated with the Love of Allah!

Rate this Entry
Who amongst us is not afflicted with loss and grief, with pain and hardship, with anxiety and fear? Some more than others, each of us will be tested. Relief can be attained with ishq-e-Ilaahi (love of Allah subhaanahau wata’ala).

Just as a heart patient who undergoes surgery has his body pierced and cut open without him feeling any pain due to being under anaesthetic, so it is with a Believer who has love for Allah subhaanahu wata’ala in his/her heart. When he/she is afflicted by any form of distress the heart will not feel it due to it being sedated with this love. The heart will be full of tranquility and contentment.

This beautiful analogy was related to me from the teachings of Shaykh Mawlana Adam Lunat Sahib

assalaamu'alaikum, jazaakAllahu khaira for all your beautiful posts Aapa. May Allah swt bless you with His nearness in jannatul firdous and here as well. Aameen.

Sunniforum is such a beautiful place with all of you beautiful people. Whenever I am not in a good mood...just reading through posts, though it might be on an entirely unrelated topic, brings me back to senses, strikes back the correct perspectives, makes clear the correct state of heart and character that I should be holding in that moment, driving the moods and mistakes away!

May Allah swt keep the forum active forever with pious people who keep benefitting everyone with their posts, comments and presence here and make it a source of benefit and hidayath to the entire web-browsing ummah, in particular.

MashaAllah this is very true. I have heard something to this effect in the bayan of Arilf Billah Hazrat Maulana Shah Hakeem Muhamamd Akhtar Sahab(db). He said something to this effect:

" When we can have water proof watches and the like then Allah Ta'ala can make out hearts grief and anxiety proof also.
This depends on how much nisbat (connection) and muhabbat we have with Allah Ta'ala."

Reminded me of another analogy given by Sheikh Maulana Abdus Sattar (db) about the heart of the believer in a similar case like a water proof watch. Just like water doesnt enter the water proof watch even it is surrounded by water, the believers heart becomes ghum-proof (sorrow proof) when it gets close to Allah SWT with all content and peaceful inside even if it is surrounded by trials and tribulations outside. Not everyone can attain this state all the time easily though. Allahu alam
