Small Gesture of Appreciation Goes A Long Way

Rate this Entry
One thing we Muslims should do at these places where we are allowed to pray and given a prayer room to make prayer, whether its at college/university or work is that we should find out who is incharge of the religious services, the person who oversees the activities of the prayer room, or if at work your boss has given you the room for prayer - find out who the person incharge is and get a small "thank you" card and write a nice, simple note in there with the persons name, "Dear Mr. So and So, thank you for providing a private area/room for me to offer my prayers I appreciate it." It will cost you a dollar or two, it will take a minute to write the note, its a small gesture of appreciation but it goes a long way and it further makes it easy for yourself and other Muslims or Muslims who will be hired there in the future to offer salaah. You will make it easier for Muslims in the future who will work there/go to school there. If in the future a Muslim interviews at the company and mentions his need to pray the company will already know and have an understanding that this is Islamic way of life and Muslims need to pray certain times during the day. It also gives the non Muslims an indication of just how serious we are about our prayers and what kind of relationship we have with our Creator. They will offer you their cards to make dua for them.
