The Boon of Tasawwuf and the Calamity of Ignorance

These people who trash tasawwuf or call it a bid'a, or maybe they don't call it an innovation but they don't see a need for it, I say to these people let us leave all other matters for now and focus on the first ayah of the Holy Quran. In Surah Fatiha we all read "Alhamdulillahi rabbil alameen" - let us ask these people how we can bring this ayat to its haal level in our life, how we can manifest this ayat in our life? Tasawwuf is needed for sure to do this. I would be shocked if someone read this ayah and found how to bring it to its practice in day to day life all on their own, I would find that hard to believe.
Ok leave that issue alone, let us see another example. Let's slow it down and let us see the mention of "marazun" just in the first few ayahs of Surah Baqara. What is this maraz? Granted this word in this context might be used for a particular condition of a particular people but we can understand after reading it that people can get a disease in their heart (and we understand that this isn't the physical heart we are talking about). The mention of it has opened the possibility that people can get a disease of the heart. So we see that the issue of disease of the heart is mentioned right from the get-go in Surah Baqara. In Fiqah you might learn the legalities of this ayah - very important. In field of ilm you might learn the proper usage of the word maraz and become aquainted with various commentaries on this ayah - very important. In field of dawah you might bring it up - very important.
But to learn what are the diseases of the heart, what are their signs and symptoms, how they arise, how to cure them, all of the details pertaining to the diseases of the heart and its cure - where do we go to learn that information? Field of tasawwuf.
