The words of the poem below were said by a person who reverted from Hinduism and was condemned and ostracised by everyone around him. Shaykh Yunus Patel Sahib (Raheemahullah) recited it and said a few very inspiring words.
“Laakh aaye museebat to parwah nahi
Laakh tu-te sitam, uskaa shikwa nahi
Chaahe badle zamaanaa, nahi uska gham
Aap badle to apnaa thikaanaa nahi”
O my Beloved Allah, no matter how many trials come my way, I’m unconcerned and even if the whole world turned against me I would not grieve but O my Beloved Allah, if You distance Yourself from me, if You turn your merciful sight from me and if You turn away from me then I will face nothing but destruction.
“Koi manzil bhi hein is ghunehgaar ki
Yaa taraptaa rahegaa yuhi ‘umr bhar?
Mene maanaa khataao kaa putlaa hu mein
Apni nazrose lekin giraanaa nahi!
O my Allah, I admit I am a sinful servant of Yours. I am an epitome of sin. Day and night I disobey You. I confess this and I am not justifying any of my sins but O my Beloved Allah, do not turn away your merciful sight from me”
The respected Shaykh mentioned after reciting the words that these words were said by someone who had just entered Islam and we are born Muslims who cannot distance ourselves from fraud and cinemas and clubs and the evil on the TV and the internet. So what kind of Muslims are we and what kind of rahmat from Allah ta’ala are we awaiting?
