Before you do any task think why you're doing it.
"I am (insert task here) because it is the hukum (commandment) of Allah swt." Or in some cases, "I am not doing this task because Allah swt commands not to do it."
Let us see a couple of examples of how this works:
"I am going to eat because it is a commandment of Allah swt."
"I am doing this service to my parents because it is a commandment of Allah swt."
"I am looking at this strange woman because it is...." Hold one second, looking at strange women is not a commandment of Allah swt, commandment is not to look. So in this situation one has no choice but look away and say, "I am looking away from this strange woman because Allah commands not to look at her."
Whatever task one does he should do it with the thought in mind that it is a hukum of Allah swt except of course those things which are not a hukum of Allah swt, in such a case just think "I am not doing this because Allah commands not to do it."
From morning till night try this simple exercise. If you want you can take it further, for example:
"I am eating because it is a hukum (commandment) of Allah swt, I am washing my hands before eating because it is a sunnah of Rasoolullah salallahu alayhi wa sallam."
Try this exercise morning to night and see after a few days what your situation is.
