Mit Mit Kay Mit Ja - False Praise

Rate this Entry
Towards the end of the poem the poet asks,

"Bhuliyoun kyun awqaat tu apni?"

And then says,

"Jhooti hai wah wah faqeera"

He is saying, "Why have you forgotten your value? Why have you forgotten your wealth? Why have you forgotten your place? The praise you are getting is all lies, O Faqeer! Annihilate yourself!"

What he is saying here is, "Why have you forgotten that you have no zaati kamali siffat, Allah swt has zaati kamali siffat, this is why we say "All praise is for Allah swt" - so when people praise you or you think you did something praisworthy and think yourself to be good and deserving of praise then remember that you lack in zaati kamali siffat, you are poor of it, so therefore, by default, the praise is a lie and deceit. In this way annihilate your arrogance, because only Allah is great and praise is only for Him."
