In the poem the poet says to give benefit to people even if they insult and hit you.
We have read about the persecution the Prophet alayhi salaam and Sahaba (ra) faced at the hands of mushrikeen, the history books are full of the horrific incidents from their lives which take away our sleep. But we see that upon entering Makkah as the Conquerer of Makkah, Huzoor salallahu alayhi wa sallam did not take any sort of personal revenge, but rather, he gave safety and security. In a time when he had the upper hand the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam did not even mention personal revenge from his lips. In fact, many people accepted Islam on this occasion and thus became Sahaba, and by virtue of eeman now were saved forever from the hellfire.
Though he suffered tremendous persecution at the hands of mushrikeen the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam gave them only benefits in return especially in those cases when he had the upper hand to cause some great loss to them. His only worry and concern was for the benefit and well-being of all people - that if they accept Islam they will have total success in the hereafter and in this worldly life.
