The poet writes that even if people throw shoes and sticks at you, you just return them with benefits. He gives the example of a Ber tree. People climb upon the tree with their dirty shoes, they trample it and walk all over it treating it like dirt. But does the tree deny them any fruits? No, it continues to give fruits despite of the ill treatment.
There are a few types of anger that people have; of these types the best anger is that which takes a while to come on but leaves quickly.
Here in our city many times people are murdered simply because they gave a wrong glance at someone. Person A got on the bus and looked at Person B in the wrong way, Person B then takes a knife or a gun and shoots Person A - this happens a lot in our city. Why? The anger is so severe, its so bad, like a dog the person cannot tolerate another person simply looking at him for more than a second. This is like dog behavior.
The best anger to have is the anger which comes on after a long time, but, it leaves very quickly. Wallahu yuhibbul muhsineen, and Allah swt loves those who do ehsan.
