Assalamu alaykum

My specific question is regarding a woman breastfeeding her niece's son (her sister's grandson).

As I understand it, if a woman breastfeeds a baby other than her own with the following conditions, the baby becomes mahram to that woman's own children (almost as if they were siblings):

Feeding before the baby reaches the age of weaning (roughly 2 years old)

Feeding at least 5 times

At each feed, the baby drinks its fill

Are these conditions correct?

The second part of the question (and what I haven't found much information for) is who exactly becomes that baby's mahram? Is it everyone who is mahram to the wetnurse and her children, or just her children?

For example, the wetnurse's husband, children, parents-in-law? What about her husband's brother and sister, seeing as they are mahram to the wetnurse's own children?

Thank you and jazak Allah khair for your time.

Greetings brothers and sisters. I would like to find out a definitive and authentic solution to a problem that is causing much dissent and conflict among my family members. My grandfather is buried in a grave with a headstone. The 1sts kalma was inscribed on the headstone ever since he was buried. One of my aunts recently heard from somewhere that having the kalmas written on headstones of graves is wrong according to Islamic teachings, as it is wrong to write the name of Allah like that, some reason similar to that. I want to know whether it really is forbidden or is it okay according to religion? I have tried searching for the answer but cannot find anyone who has addressed this specific issue. So my question is:
Is it allowed to write the 1st kalma (or any other kalma) on gravestones?

A question to the scholars on the forum; others, please abstain from posting.

1. Is it correct that lay persons are usually asked to 'evaluate' if a scholar is worth following based on how much sunnah they practice?
Isn't that going to put all the scholars on cross fire, and more over, the lay person goes on a fault finding mission?

2. In specific, if a scholar does not wear a topi, or does not wear a kurta, he is not a good scholar to follow. Why? Because his not practicing is taken akin to his rejection of the sunnah. However, same is not done when a scholar never wears a lungi, or kohl in the eyes.

3. Also, how is a lay person meant to know that status of each sunnah (mustahab, ghayr muwakkadah, etc)? If they end up putting all sunnah in the same scale, then everyone has faults.

As Salaam Alaikum
I am a Muslim Bangladeshi working in UK as an Accountant. I want to lead an Islamic life In Sha Allah. I came here as a student and recently finished studies.
I am now on work permit from a small Accounting Firm. All employees and owner are Muslim. We do not directly deal with Riba.
But most of the clients do not want to show their real profit and pay less tax. I have to assist them in this and prepare financial statements that not entirely true as a part of my job. This is the trend in this field.
All businesses look for accountants who can reduce tax by whatever means possible. I know that you can reduce tax legally to some extent. Its called tax planning.
But most clients want to go beyond that and want to prepare financial statements that are untrue. That is what all or most of the accountants do. Now, as an employee I have to do what the boss asks or leave the job.
If I leave this job I'll lose my work permit and will have to go back to Bangladesh. Now, I have invested lot of money and time to come where I am now. Leaving this now is likely to result into financial difficulty.
Some people are advising me to keep the job and few years later if I get Permanent Residency here then change career. Because the financial difficulty might be too much to handle.
What should be the Islamic solution?
Please advise. Jazak Allah Khair.

Do not pretend to be pure; He knows best who is really God-fearing. (53:32)

a:To pretend (lie) is forbidden, but if you don't pretend and show or justify the actual situation then its allowed and won't count in self praising?

b: You help someone financially/work etc and she is unaware of and you tell her later (to make her pleased with you) will it be counted in self praising? and the reward (i.e, doing something for the sake of Allah) will be decreased?
But some says, if people are pleased with you then its the sign that Allah will be pleased with you. If you don't let others know about the good you do at their back, how would they be pleased with you??

c: A quote that I forgot exactly but that says; Don't tell off a single word while communicating where there is your praise even if that is the truth.

Same way if you tell someone (in dealings etc friends/family) don't worry about me I wont mind or its your right go for it...... statements like that ETC only to collect some confidence for them. Will it also be counted in self praising. (it gives the impression as if you are VERY NICE Person).

Asalam O Alaikum everyone !!

i want to ask a question which is really important. Recently I heard an incident relating to hazrat musa (a.s). someone told me that once hazrat musa (a.s) was going to talk to Allah and someone said hazrat musa to ask Allah that he will go to the heaven or the hell ? hazrat musa went to Allah and asked Him about that person whether he will go to heaven or hell. Allah replied to hazrat musa that the person will go to heaven. hazrat musa went to that person and told him that he would go to heaven. when that person heard this he asked hazrat musa that how can he go to heaven because he had done many shameful acts even with his mother. hazrat musa went to Allah again and asked him that the person is saying that he has done such shameful acts so how can he go to heaven. now Allah replied to hazrat musa that the person will go to hell as now this secret is open to you and at first only Allah knew that secret except the person.

now my question is : i had a really bad habbit of hand practice and now i am trying hard to stop it and it had been a while i had done it. i feel very much guilt that why i did it before. recently while i was having a religious discussion with my cousin, i told him that i had this bad habbit so how can i repent to Allah so that He would forgive me. now my cousin also knows this secret so do i also deserve going to hell like the person who met hazrat musa ? (Allah save me from this please) the same cousin told me the incident of hazrat musa after i told him about my bad habbit. seriously i am really tensed about this issue and have no other source to solve it. this forum is my only hope. ;(

Please help me !! and please pray 4 me. seriously i dont want anything else but the happiness of Allah !! ;(
