My life isn't that terrible as other people's. I have been thinking about suicide since like 14 yrs old and younger. I even thought about it a few months ago but then someone told me that you are going to Hell if you kill yourself. But now I don't think I care anymore, I mean Hell would only be temporary and I would forget about it when I am in Jannah. Right now I feel like my family is holding me back, I mean I feel like I owe them and I don't want to cause them any grief especially my parents. But I think more frequently about suicide as I get older. I am just tired of living and life, I am sad or sometimes upset that I am still living, I wish I was never born and don't want to be part of this world anymore. It's really hard to kill yourself and even if you try , you wont succeed unless Allah swt lets you die. Life itself is killing me, I mean people are happy w/ having one more day, I dread that I have another day to live :(

Long story short:

I used to date a girl for a couple of years. I liked her. She liked me.

Then Allah had mercy on us and made us realise that we were committing sin. So, we decided to split up and stopped seeing each other.

Now after some time Alhamdulillah I’m practising more than I was before and learning more Islam and Quran on a regular basis.

I learnt that she is doing the same on her own Alhamdulillah. She has now being maintaining proper hijab for more than a year.

I thought if both of us are single why not get married? I called her and she said she would be interested to get married but no more extra marital relationship.

Now, her family agrees. But my family does not for two reasons :

Her family does not have the same social standing as ours
Because of our history they have a bad concept about her

If I say Islam does not prohibit getting married because of family status rather mentions deen as priority, I am told that hurting the feelings of family members by marrying her is also not Islamic.

What should be the Islamic solution?

Please advise.

I'm an unmarried youth guy(age 24) from India. I've a girl in my choice to marry. I inform my mother that I've a girl in my choice. But she told me that boys and girls must be married upon their parents' choice, not their choice. I am very sad about that situation that my mother does not like marriage according to the bride and groom's choice rather their parent's choice. Even my father is also against that type of marriage that of bride and groom's choice. So I cannot think without the girl. She is my crush. I fear that If I'm unable to get her I cannot marry another girl. Even with some examples, I discussed it in my home. They reacted like these are great sins. & the children(means both adult sons & daughters) must be rejected as they didn't abide their parents. I Put some examples of sahaba(radhi allahu anhu)'s marriage and The Quran's Ayat(Surah An-Nisa 19) that it is forbidden for the parents to force their children for marriage. It is allowed in Islam that Anyone can marry with his/her choice without parent's consent. But my parents told me that in that case, he/she who marries without his/her parent's consent must be taken with bad-dua(blame from parents). May be he/she will be rejected. I'm scared that they also judge me like that if i do like that. I pray for this to Allah. So brothers and sisters, you can understand my situation. One of the pious predecessors wrote to one of his brothers:"Oh my brother, it appears to you as if you are a resident (In this world). However, you are really only persistently travelling, and you are moving rapidly. Death is heading towards you, and this life is passing behind you. What has passed of your life will not return to you (in order to rectify it) on the Day of Resurrection."

So this short life is passing by us so rapidly. How often we think to ourselves how fast time is passing us by? This life is our ONLY opportunity to gain success in the Hereafter and after this opportunity has passed us then we will NEVER be able to gain back such a chance ever again.

Abû Hâzim said,"The merchandise of the hereafter is in little demand. It is about to be spent with no one obtaining it except a few, not many."

How much we crave for materialistic things which have many defects and are temporary and they are NOTHING compared to the merchandise of the Hereafter which hace no defects and will last forever! Such merchandise can only be gained through good righteous deeds.

So let us grab as much merchandise of the Hereafter as we can right now as tomorrow is not guaranteed and after death we will NEVER gain this opportunity again.

Therefore it is crucial upon the believer to take advantage of what remains from his life. In explanation of this, it is said:

"the remainder of the believer's life is priceless."

Brothers and sisters, I really need your advice.

I am heartbroken and shattered because the girl I love is getting married to another person. She doesn't love me.
That's all fine with me. But can you suggest me what should I do so that I can personally recover mentally.
I have lost all my motivation and hope. Spending a few hours has become a huge burden as it pains in the heart and the mind if full of her thoughts.
What advice do you have so that I can quickly forget and recover everything? I really didn't want to fall in love with a sister to begin with but I am unfortunately in this state and I want to forget it immediately or as soon as possible.
