Two nice fatwa's included in Fatawa Dar al-Ulum Zakariyya: http://archive.org/stream/FatawaDaru...e/n41/mode/1up

p. 32:
Is Allah in the heavens?

Cites a large portion from mushkil al-hadith of Ibn al-Furak. A very nice explanation of how the word ayna (where) can be used.

p. 41:
Did or will the Prophet sit on the throne and a tahqiq of the opinion of some Salafis

He attributes this view to Ibn Taymiyya and Ibn al-Qayyim and calls it baatil. Cites Subki's work as-sayf as-saqil. In the end he says:

"The summary is that the Imams of those Salafi's who are of the view that the Prophet went to the throne or will go on the throne, is in fact the aqida of the mushabbiha, and is absolutely baatil."

lots of lies, manipulation and propaganda against Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah has been increased recently for some unknown reason, here is a small gift:

quote:

Prominent Later Ash'ari, Muhammad bin Yusuf as-Sanusi (d. 895H) on Fakhr ud-Din ar-Razi (d. 606H) and the Ash'ari Shaykhs Warning From His Books And His Mentioning of Poetry From Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah With His Isnaad Regarding ar-Razi And One Of His Books!

As-Sanusi (d. 895H) is one of the later Ash'ari Scholars who has some works that are held in high regard by the Ash'arites and which are study manuals for them. In this article, we want to highlight that many Later Ash'aris warned from the books of ar-Razi because in attempting to refute Ahl us-Sunnah in their belief that Allaah is above the Throne, above His creation, ar-Razi unscrupulously gathered together the doubts and arguments of the Philosophers, Jahmites and Mu'tazilah - just to prove that point - even if it meant that the arguments he used would invalidate his own (Ash'arite) creed in other areas. For this reason, he was criticized and rebuked and his books warned against by the Ash'arites who came after him.

Here is the cover to his book "Sharh al-Kubraa", which is an Egyptian print dated just before 1900, just before the turn of the 20th century:

On page 22-23 of this book as-Sanusi says about Fakhr ud-Din ar-Razi:

Which translates as:

And it could be plausible that the reason for his supplication with this is what he knew of his condition of craving to memorize the opinions of the Philosophers and the People of Desires and propagation of their doubts and his strengthening their citation alongside his weakness in determining the reply to many of them - based upon what is apparent from his authorship. And they pilfered him (i.e. won him over) in some beliefs, and he departed (getting) close to their abominable desires. For this reason, the Shaykhs warn from looking into much of his authorship.

The Shaykh Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Muqri at-Tilmisani (may Allaah have mercy upon him and be pleased with him) said, "Whoever ascertained the speech of Ibn al-Khateeb (i.e. ar-Razi) will find him stronger in corroborating the doubts than in separating from them (i.e. in repelling them), and in this there is what is not hidden (of the warning against his books). My Shaykh, Abu Abdullah al-Iblee recited poetry to me, saying: Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ibraheem az-Zamuri recited poetry to me, saying: Taqi ud-Din Ibn Taymiyyah recited some poetry of his to me, saying:

"Mahsul Fee Usool ud-Din", and his "Haasil"
And his "Tahseel", it is knowledge without religion
The foundation of misguidance is in manifest falsehood
For whatever is in it, then most of is the inspiration of the devils

He (as-Zamuri) said: And in his hand he (Ibn Taymiyyah) had a staff and he said, "If I reached Fakhr ud-Din I would have beaten him on his head with my staff" End (of quote).

Here we have a prominent figure of the later Ash'arites saying that the Ash'arite Shaykhs warned from the books of ar-Razi due to his being confused and mixed up with the doubts of the Philosophers, and he even brings, with his isnaad, some poetry from Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah about one of the books of ar-Raazee, "Mahsul Fee Usool ud-Din", and also alluding to two other books (of ar-Razi's students) through the words "Haasil" and "Tahseel". And the poetry of Ibn Taymiyyah means that anyone acquiring and going through the book of ar-Razi, and the other two books, will simply gain knowledge but lose his religion, and most of what is in them is plain falsehood and inspired by the devils.

As-Sanusi (d. 895H) quoting with his isnaad from Shaykh ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah some poetry in reprimand of the authorship of ar-Razi and today we see unscrupulous Jahmee Baleeds slandering and reviling Ibn Taymiyyah based upon the arguments devised by ar-Razi which the latter has borrowed from the Philosophers - the very same ones for which as-Sanusi goes on to rebuke him for (see article links at the end).

The point being here that ar-Razi, in his book "Asaas ut-Taqdees" which Ibn Taymiyyah refuted, brought the doubts of the Philosophers, and in particular he has employed elements of the proof through composition (at-tarkeeb) which is what the Philosophers use to establish a Maker for the universe, however this same proof is used to negate any and all attributes for Allaah, because they claim they necessitate the present of distinguishable parts (ajzaa') within the Essence, and thus render Allaah to be composite (murakkab).

For more on this subject you can refer to these articles: here and here and here.

For the record it should be pointed out that as-Sanusi being an Ash'ari and propounding a creed based upon the notions of "al-jawhar wal-'arad" would not agree with much of the creed of the Salaf, the Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah, and thus his quotation from Ibn Taymiyyah in this context only shows the great reprimand with which ar-Razi was subject to and not that as-Sanusi was in agreement with Ibn Taymiyyah's creed of affirming Allaah is above the Throne, with His Essence which is the creed of the entirety of the Salaf (al-Qurtubi: see here) and the Early Ash'aris (see here).

بيان تلبيس الجهمية لابن تيمية ج1 ص 17-24.

Ibn Taymiyya states that Najd is the horn of Shaytan whose mention is found in the Hadiths:

Ibn Taymiyya said in his reply to ta'sis al-taqdis of al-Imam al-Razi*:

"Indeed, it is mass transmitted (tawatur) from the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) - his narration which mentions that trials/tribulations (fitna), and the peak of disbelief are from the east - which is the east of Madina - as in Najd, and what is (further) east from it..."

Then he quoted some of the Hadiths found regarding this in the two Sahihs (Bukhari and Muslim) and other than them until he said:

"And there is no doubt that from these, apostasy and other forms of disbelief became apparent from the likes of Musaylama al-Kadhab and his followers, Tulayha al-Asadi and his followers, Sujah and her followers, until Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (radhiallahu 'anh) and those who were with him from the believers killed them. Until whoever was killed was killed, and whoever returned to Islam returned as a believer or a hypocrite."

[Bayan Talbis al-Jahmiyya of ibn Taymiyya, vol. 1 pg. 17-24]

*It seems that ibn Taymiyya argues the above because al-Razi's work had come from the east.

Which Hijab verse came first?
What hadeeth is it where Umar says about Ibn Mas'ud: "By Allaah, I don't know of any person who is more qualified in the matters dealing with the Qur'an than Abdullah ibn Mas'ud."
What hadeeth did Ibn Mas'ud say the meaning of the Hijab was to cover the face?
What hadeeth did Ibn Abbas say the meaning of the Hijab was to cover the face?
What is the direct source and quote for Imam Malik, Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Imam Shafi'i stating that the covering of the face and hands is obligatory?

What is the direct source and quote for Imam Abu Hanifah saying the face veil is obligatory if there is any apprehension of fitnah?

What is the direct source for Umar banning the women who didn't veil from coming to the masjid, and Aisha supporting this?

"Regarding the travel for business and hajj, then there is nothing wrong to go out without the permission of parents."

How is this text understood? Does "without permission" here mean that you can go forward, without asking them actually for permission before you depart, but it is still not legally allowed to travel when they are not content with your travel? Or does it mean that no permission is asked, and so their content is not needed even if they disallow you?

Some people here are very much interested in this issue of Hawadith la awwala. According to them this is heresy which Ibn Taymiyyah propagated. I really doubt if they even understand it correctly. First, let me clarify the issue is simple words then I may add quotes from Ibn Taymiyyah and others.

What is Hawadith la awwala laha?
Literally it means created things which has no begining. We may also call it infinite regression.

The difference between Infinite regression and Eternity of world
Qidam al-'Aalam is the belief that matter is eternal although dependent on Allah. So it always coexisted with Allah.
Infinite regression means Allah was never an Idle God. He is creating and destroying since eternity. So nothing is eternal in this case except the Sifat of Allah al-Khaliq. So this belief actually approves the eternity of Sifat of Allah not matter. Allah creates things then destroy it. He is doing this since eternity.
Some scholars may disagree with this but it has nothing to do with Kufr.

What is so wrong about this belief?
I don't know. Some people, like world famous lunatic Hasan As-Saqqaf, equates it with Qidam al-'Aalam, the belief of Hindus and some Greek philosophers.

Wassalaam

As I have done my studies in Islam, I have had one golden rule that has led me in my research, and helped me steer clear of the wrong ideologies, and that is no innovation (bid'ah) is allowed. I have been under the impression that innovation was absolutely forbidden. I have read that Uthman added to the Athan, and other things. But I have also read that whoever establishes a good practice in Islam will have a good reward, or the like. So my questions are...

Did the Companions and four Rightly-Guided Caliphs innovate Islam at all?

What exactly is meant by innovation?

What exactly is meant by a good practice?

Really, I just need clarification on this in general.

Haven't you learned from your salafi brethren that a jarh mufassar is given precedence over ta'dil? With this logic you could start accept thousands of innovators.

What matters is what he believed in. Discuss the topic at hand. Do you accept his beliefs surrounding hadd, qu'ud, istiqrar al-makani etc? And tell us the verdict of the fuqaha' about the person who holds this belief.

Question:

“What do the Ulama of the Deen say regarding the following question: Does the Zaat [Being] of Allah Ta’ala – Glorious is His Name – have the attribute of kithb [falsehood] or not? Does Allah Ta’ala speak lies or not? How shall a person who says that Allah speaks lies be described? Elaborate and you will be rewarded [by Allah Ta’ala].

Answer:

Every now and again the Grave Worshipping Barelwi sect releases its worn out and monotonous papers of canards, half-truths and pure slander at the eminent Ulama and Awliya of the Ummah. Since the public do not have access to the references or are unacquainted with the language the Bareilwis brazenly cite kitaabs’ names in an attempt to mislead the unwary.

This trait of deception and slander has been inherited by the Qabar Pujaari sect from their spiritual father, the ‘a’la hazrat’ of the grave worshippers. His name was Ahmed Raza Khan. He had throughout his life conspired against the illustrious Ulama of Islam – the Ulama of Deoband – in cloak and dagger fashion. Then in 1323 Hijri he departed for Haj. After the Haj he stayed over at Makkah Mu’azzamah and compiled a treatise of slander and vilification of the Ulama of Deoband. He cunningly addressed the question of the Qadiaanis first and followed it up with a question and response on the Ulama of Deoband. He sought to pull wool over the eyes of unknowing people by portraying the Ulama of Deoband to be a deviant sect, on par to the Qaadianis. Then he attempted to secure the endorsement and signatures of the Ulama of Haramain Shareefain for his vitriolic slander. The Ulama of Haramain answered according to the questions prepared. After considerable behind the scenes shenanigans Ahmed Raza published his pamphlet of lies and slander.

When the Ulama of Haramain Shareefain were informed of the satanic scheme of this deviate they prepared a set of 26 questions for the Ulama of Deoband. The two most senior Ulama of Deoband, Hazrat Moulana Qaasim Saheb and Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmed Saheb (Rahmatullahi alaihima) had in the meantime passed away. Hazrat Moulana Khaleel Ahmad Saheb responded to the questions. The answers were fully in accord with the Aqeedah of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah. Ulama of Haramain Shareefain from all four Math-habs and even the senior Ulama from Misr (Egypt) and Shaam (Syria) fully endorsed the answers and confirmed the correctness of the Beliefs of the Ulama of Deoband.

The same set of lies and slander were fed to the Ulama of Haramain. When they sought clarification they realized the dishonesty and deceit of Ahmed Raza Khan. This in a nutshell is the background to the pack of lies disgorged every now and then by Raza Khan’s offspring following in their mischievous father’s footsteps. What kind of Imaan and integrity do these grave worshipping bid’atis possess that they keep on harping on the lies fed to them by their spiritual head? It appears that festering on falsehood is an addiction to them. In front of ignoramuses they can pass off their dirty lies, but with the Fadhl of Allah Ta’ala they will never be able to hoodwink intelligent and discerning people. Their slanderous accusations against the Awliya of Allah shall be exposed. In fact, Allah Ta’ala will expose them for what they are, rotten liars. Allah Ta’ala warns these Bareilwi bid’atis that whosoever hurts His Wali, an ultimatum of war is given to the scoundrel. We will now proceed to remove the haze of confusion and scepticism which the Bareilwi grave worshippers have cast on you. And Taufeeq comes only from Allah Ta’ala.

Their Hallucinated False Belief 1

The allegation that according to the Ulama of Deoband, “Allah can speak lies” is a blatant slander. Never did our illustrious Akaabir make such a vile statement. Only brains suffering from the touch of Shaitaan can utter such a vile statement. These bid’atis take pleasure in concocting such evil and wicked statements. This should be a window to their mind-set. We present here the translation of an Istifta (question) and the Fatwa (verdict) from Hazrat Moulana Rashid Ahmad Gangohi’s Fataawa Rasheediyyah germane to this calumny:

"The Zaat of Allah Ta’ala is pure and holy, beyond being attributed with the quality of kithb [falsehood/lies]. May Allah Ta’ala protect us. Never ever is there the slightest vestige of falsehood in His Kalaam [Words]. Allah Ta’ala says [in the Qur’aan]:

‘And who is more truthful than Allah in word?’

Whoever believes with regard to Allah Ta’ala or says verbally that Allah speaks lies is an absolute kaafir and mal’oon [accursed]. Such a person is an adversary of the Qur’aan, the Hadeeth and the Ijma’ of the Ummah. Never is he a Mu-min.

‘Allah Ta’ala is Most High and Above what [falsehood] the transgressors speak.’ (Qur’aan)”

It is the unanimous belief of all people of Imaan, however, that while Fir’oun, Haamaan and Abu Jahl, for example, have been proclaimed by the Qur’aan to be absolute Jahannamis [inmates of the Fire], nevertheless, Allah Ta’ala has the power to grant them Jannat although He will not do so. He has not been rendered impotent [by His promise]. He says [in the Qur’aan]:

‘And if We desire, we can give every person guidance, but from Me has been issued the decree that, verily I shall fill Jahannam with all of jinnkind and mankind.’

It is evident from this Verse that if Allah Ta’ala had willed, He would have made everyone Mu-min. But what He has proclaimed already, He will not act in contradiction thereof. All this is by the volitional power of Allah, not by compulsion. [Whatever He does is by His discretionary power and will.] He does whatever He wishes. This is the belief of the Ummah and hence in the Tafseer of Allah Ta’ala’s statement, ‘If You (O Allah) forgive them..,’ Qaadhi Baidhaawi [the great Mufassir] says: ‘There being no forgiveness for shir’k is the effect of the wa’eed [warning of Allah that He will not forgive shir’k]. Thus, with regard to forgiveness, there is no impossibility in the Zaat of Allah Ta’ala. [In other words, Allah Ta’ala still has the power to forgive even the mushrik, if He so wishes. His wa’eed over shir’k has not curtailed His power, Na’uthu Billah.]” (End of quote from Fataawa Rasheediyyah)

The above Fatwa of Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi (Rahmatullahi alaih) was posed, in fact, by the Ulama of Makkah Mukarramah, and Ulama of all four Math-habs – Hanafi, Maaliki, Shaafi’i and Hambali – endorsed the response saying that it was the inexorable Haq.

From the above verdict of Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi (Rahmatullahi alaih) the facts abundantly clear for all seekers of the Truth are:

* He never said Allah Ta’ala speaks a lie or spoke a lie or will ever speak a lie.
* He declared as kaafir and accursed a person who holds the view that Allah Ta’ala speaks lies or that the attribute of kithb is associated with him.
* He affirms the belief of the Ahlus Sunnah that Allah Ta’ala has not lost any of His Qudrat in declaring shir’k to be unpardonable.

In spite of the emphatic endorsement of this Fatwa of Hazrat Moulana Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi (Rahmatullahi alaih) by the Ulama of Makkah Mukarramah, the Devil-in-Chief subsequently still laboured to squeeze a fatwa of kufr from the Ulama of Haramain and after Moulana Gangohi passed away he cunningly released his pamphlet of deceit and slander which was then rebutted by Hazrat Moulana Khaleel Ahmad with his response to the twenty-six questions posed by the Arab Ulama...
