One query !

Asalam o alikum,

My name is afnan. MahsaAllah i come to know that you ppl are doing great effort for sharing useful knowledge.

One issue, that come in my mind ...

Both male and females members are registered on this forum. And discussion (although religious) is going on among them.

It's something which i haven't seen yet among Ahl e Haq ulema karam. Have you ever discussed the negative impact of this discussion from some alim e deen?

Teachings that i've learned from my shaikh, the un-necessary discussion b/w 2 genders results in a very horrible result unless protected by Allah tala.

These discussions are very common at yahoo chat or msn chat or any other group ... but this form is totally differnt bcoz its running with the name of Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi Rehmatulah Aliye.

I atleast never consulted any alim regarding this matter ... if you ppl did ... please update me too.

Sunniforum is run by Ahl e Haq ulema karam as well, alhumdullilah.

you can consult them privately on the validity of such forum and

any doubts can be cleared. By the way, the discussions between the two genders are highly moderated and there are sisters only & brothers only sections on this forum as well.

for raising a very valid point. We have actually discussed this in the past. Indeed, this was one of the main points our Shura discussed before sunniforum.com went live to the general public.

Alhamdulillah, in almost ever step we take we do so with complete mashwera from the learned and our Ulama. We have Mufti Yusuf Mullan (student of Mufti Taqi Usmani), Maulana Nazim Mangera, Maulana Ziad and other scholars on our team.

We have a strict policy about gender interaction. Hence, no unnecessary talk is allowed on our main boards. Excessive use of "smilies" are frowned upon. Private messaging has been disabled between brothers and sisters. Members are not allowed to post their e-mail addresses on the main forums. Our moderating team strictly monitor all threads and posts, and inappropriate posts/threads are completely removed. If you read our sunniforum.com Rules, you'll find just how strict we are in this regard (and we've actually had people complaining about our excessive strictness).

The main forums are only mixed after consultation and agreement with our Ulama. Our members are asked to adhere to the teachings of Islam and not to engage in unlawful conversation with the opposite gender.

Sunniforum.com is unlike all other message boards because of our extremely strict policies... Alhamdulillah.

Rest assured, we have the backing of our Ulama and are in constant consultation with them regarding our rules and our site.

hmm ... good to know that u ppl are directed by ulema e haq,

I know stories that it starts with religious discussion b/w male & female .... and conversations gradually increases .... and then they decide to exchange some religious books as gifts ... so and so ... (many other steps like this) ... and final result was that they conducted zina.

If you want proof ... i can arrange MAG AL-ABRAR (www.alabrar.org) .... and you must be shocked to know ... that female was aalima too. (Letter from South Africa to hazrat wala) ... (But persons were very sincere in regretting and contacted shaikh for islah)

Remmeber ...

Innan nafs la-ammaratum bisou' (regarding nafs)

and

Inna Kaida kunna azim 12.28 (regarding womens)

Hazrat Thanvi rehmatulah said ... talking with strange women with Soft words is much much harmful that i can't descibe it in words. (talking with soft words, nice voice, etc etc) ...

Please convey my message to all related members on forum ... mashaAllah you all seems very Muttaqi ... u ppl can do some meeting about it and u know better solutions than me.

It is extremely difficult to totally cut off interactions on a general forum. With that in mind, we have taken the means to *limit* these gender interactions such as same gender private messaging only, not allowing useless chatter (as Sister Live for Islam stated) and other things. After all, taking the means is necessary.

If you do feel something is inappropriate, which includes things such as excessive smiling or talking with *soft* words, or that one way is more effective then another then do please tell us.

If you can remove "Gender" from Posted Message right side. Then majority cannot know to whom he / she is talking.

why do people here think talking to people of other genders is some kind of a sin?
Communication between two genders is important, especially because of the male dominated society in most Islamic nations today. Women need to communicate with men so that there is an understanding between the two genders and so that women too have a voice in these matters. Im not, of course, encouraging any lewd behavior, but what's wrong with talking?
And this is a forum on the internet. We have no way of knowing someone's true gender or intentions. So we have to be cautious about what we post regarding our personal information. Other than that, i don't think there is any harm.
