As salaamu 'alaykum,
I would like to ask one of the more knowledgable brothers, if I have a choice between either studying with high caliber shuyookh in mosques with the downside that they don't teach all of the sciences every year (they may only be teaching fiqh, 'aqeedah, hadeeth, and not be teaching mustalahul hadeeth, usoolul fiqh, tajweed etc. for example) or studying in a university with teachers who are qualified inshaa'allaah, albeit not as knowledgable as the teachers in the masaajid, but I will recieve more individual attention due to less students than in the masjid and I will be able to get firmly grounded in all of the sciences with them, which of these two is better?
Also, what do you think of studying with the bigger shuyookh in the masaajid in whatever portion of the sciences that they are teaching and filling in the gaps by studying the sciences they aren't teaching from recorded lectures?
Attn: Faqeeh an Nafs or anyone else who is a taalibul 'ilm and has some experience in these areas.
Baarakallaahu feekum.
