    Default Ideal food?

What type of food is ideal to eat? Gives us energy prevents illness and keeps us healthy and young?

We now have a industrialized food production system around the world with intensive farming techniques being used and lots of chemicals being put in the soil, animals, plants and water. Potentially this could have devastating effects on our health we just do not know. The corporations that make the chemicals are doing it to make money they do not really care about the people who buy their food.

There are 3 basic food types (macro nutrients).

    Protein...meat, fish, eggs etc.
    Carbohydrates... wheat, grains etc.
    Fat...olive oil, avacado, etc.

Carbohydrates are sub divided into complex and simple. complex are grains etc simple are sweets, sugar etc.

In the west we are encouraged to eat less red meat and more grains a balanced diet means plenty of complex carbs, some protein and some fat. However this results in many health problems...like heart disease, cancer, premature aging, tiredness, depression etc.

People in the west are starting to question these food recommendations and are suggesting that for healthy living we should ditch all carbohydrates just eat proteins and fat (like man must have lived thousands of years ago before agriculture). This means we will feel less hungry and will eat less and we will even be able to go without food for many hours (intermittent fasting).

I know the sunnah is to eat everything except the haraam, however in the west we do not lead active lives, we sit around alot and we eat alot of junk food, or food that raises our blood sugar (carbs). So is it a good idea to eat lots of protein and fat with no grains except trace carbohydrates like carrots, cabbage, broccoli asparagus etc?

I recently came across such a diet whilst looking for a recipe. Its called the "Paleolithic diet" aka caveman diet, no grains no milk
Like many diets it has its critics, however, there's no harm trying it out on a short-term basis.

I recently came across people who advice making raw organic green vetetables juice. It gives your plenty of energy.

If you wat to watch a good documentary on what to eat check out this one:

    Hungry for Change : http://viooz.co/movies/4394-hungry-for-change-2012.html
it deals with the sugar, processed food and all that bad stuff people connsume, and it tells you what to eat. There's a testimony of a woman who had a cancer and after she sarted making organic raw vegetables juice and stopped consumming man made food, she was cancer free (it's not propaganda as they have nothing to earn from saying that)

If you will not eat grain, you will end up constipated. Rather eat only 1/3:rd of your stomach.
